He is in a completely different class to the running and jumping about without getting near the ball that we have become used to against prem defences. As someone posted after his first game [one of our American brothers I think], Benteke and his velcro chest. To name but one thing.

Might as well've kept Gayley if he wanted to play bigman/little man. He's commented recently that teams just can't really afford to play 2 up top in the prem these days.

Great signing and top player clearly. Glad to hear about his attitude being right. Whenever I have seen him react to a refereeing decision there seems to be an initial throwing down of the hands in a possibly petulant manner, but he doesn't seem to get the attention of the referee or a warning. You are allowed to react when decisions are made and it would be abnormal not to whenever you think you won the ball, but he seems not the be the overreacting type or petulant type that we have seen before in Wilf or Cabaye for example. Clearly he's no Alan Lee!

I think he is the kind of player we have needed for a while, but we are the kind of club he needed as well. He seems to thrive where he is loved and the big fish in the smaller pond. Liverpool was never that club, we are. If he really settles he could turn out to be a great buy and the catalyst for a bright future for CPFC.

Are you sure you're not getting him muddled with Wickham? Be nice to see Benteke, Wickham and Remy all burning boot rubber in front of goal.

Would it not be wonderful if he were to snatch a last minute winner at Anfield and celebrate in front of the Kop and Klopp

I vaguely remember a few people on here saying what a waste of money Benteke will be and how injury prone he is. I wonder if they have changed their minds now? A few people. My vague memory tells me that about 80% said sign him now. 15% said don't spend that much. 4% said don't sign him and 1% said I once saw him limp after being heavily tackled. This is of course without looking back through the 1000 pages of Benteke summer transfer talk.
