I've no idea how much training time should be undertaken by players. I guess that's why we have a coaching staff and physios etc.

Assuming the poster above s correct and it is Flamini, I would imagine he currently has a different training regime to many other players who did pre-season and play regularly. Fitness wise you would only expect an hour of cardio type training of varying intensities. Then a bit of a kick about, those with knocks see the physio etc. Beginning of the week review previous performance, middle and end work on drills etc for next match. In between which there may be some strength training or specific rehab work. Comparing to golf is a false analogy, whilst I would expect the likes of Punch, Cabaye, Townsend to practice set pieces, they can't practice to the same extent that Player could practice putting

I hope you have a telescope and binoculars trained on his house - and a little black journal to take notes of times in and out?

At different points of the season the team will work harder than others which will be based on a number of factors: form, fitness, team performance. How do you come to the conclusion that based on snippets of information and watching two games a week you are in a position to suggest players don't train hard enough?
