You get a better Punch' when he's got a point to prove. FA Cup final as one example and from Sunday, he visibly had the ump that AT was taking the free kick that resulted in Tomkins' goal.
The next corner we got, he arrows in the ball for SD to smash home.

His eye for a pass and execution is superb. Not to mention the running he does off the ball to create space for others.

Pards' job to work out how to get him playing like that from the off, not just when something gets his back up.

Maybe he could f**k him off every week?

Perhaps sending people into Nandos to beg for his autograph every Friday night?

Punch had a good game (despite the bloke in block W row 31 constantly slating him and then conferring with his 10 year old boy in an attempt to substantiate his argument!)

However, every single one of his deliveries was a floated, safe-as-houses ball articulated to tee up the phenomenal prowess possessed by our big men - and against a quite frankly god awful Stoke defense. This technique isn't really that difficult, nor that effective if you don't have a colossus to aim at.

Puncheon is always an interesting one to talk about, my own opinion of him blows hot cold (more often hot though) but I don't think he did anything of note today to warrant his own thread, certainly not on the deliveries front.

Andros Townsend on the other hand...

Passing was excellent today. Did the simple things very well and effectively. His pass completion % was in the high 90s. You really can't ask for much more.

Yes the delivery of the set pieces wasn't complicated, but the above suggests that he's lucky we've got the big men to attack the deliveries, rather than the deliveries are being tailored to the fact we have big men capable of attacking them?

I do agree he isn't consistent enough but I think yesterday was one of best days. And when he plays like that he is the heartbeat of the team. McArthur has all the energy, but it is Puncheon that keeps us going forward, retains the ball, and makes sure we develop the space for the attack.

I thought he was terrific.

Just seen the attached Tweet, thought it might be of interest. A lot of his good work goes unnoticed sometimes in my opinion, very important player for us.

Id lie to know what 'constitutes' a chance...only 2 have been converted!

Having said that (and being one of his biggest critics) he seems to have hit a bit of form....so lets just hope it continues. We ALL know he has the ability...its just that too often he flatters to deceive.

Bloody right! I'd say "drinks are on me" but when they're refillable it's not saying much.
