Personally, I don't think the money A.P spent on his dancing lessons produced what any of us might have hoped for.

Sako is poor.

Wasn't at first. But he is slow, boring, unimaginative and gives the ball away nearly as much as Punch.

When did you last see him play to come up with those gems.?

Interesting, that all the bad ones didn't cost much.

Agreed - all of the 'bad' signings were low-risk and low-cost - which is the sign of a club/manager who know what they're doing. Not that anyone will admit it.

Best: Benteke or Mandanda

Worst: Alex mccarthy or Bamford

Over to you?

We've made some notable transfer blunders in the past but, despite the suggestion in this thread, none imo under AP. Under time pressure he's made some really good ones. And under time pressure he's made some low risk speculative freebie signings. Adebayour is for me the standout low achiever amongst these. But not a blunder.
Wilf was the standout loan back and later re-signing. How much has our club benefitted from this? Arguably this deal and the sale of Bolasie has set us up financially. Great, great business.
On the other hand are these AP's signings or SP's? A joint effort I think.

Whilst Benteke looks a great player, to me when you spend over 30 million its not really a great buy.

Mark Bright cost us 75k, Ian Wright cost us a bag of chips, AJ was actually a makeweight in a deal involving Morrison so actually cost us nothing. These to me constitute great buys.

But then again i'm a tight f@cker so what do I know!

I believe Mutch was over 5mil, could have been 7mil. Doesn't sound bad now but when we bought him that was still a lot for us. We had been looking at him for a while. I don't think it is the worst signing ever but, even with the transfer inflation, we would be lucky to get our money back. I suspect he will go for one of our 'undisclosed' fees [free].

Best:
1. Mandanda
2. Cabaye
3. Benteke

Worst
1(worst). McCarthy
2. Adebayor
3. Mutch
4. Sako

Whilst Benteke is the best in terms of ability, I think getting Cabaye was a bigger coup for the club at the time. Also think that Mandanda will be one of the top keepers in the divison.

Agree entirely. And his stylist's choice of glasses to make him look like a Michael Gove body double wasn't wise. I wouldn't want him to be mistaken for a figure of hate.

Did we make a lose when we sold McCarthy? I'm not sure but thought he moved on for the same as we paid.

Adebayor was always a gamble.

Mutch I don't think was expensive and he's still a basic squad player although I doubt he'll be with us next season.

Sako was free, although on substantial wages.

But all in all I don't think the bad have been terrible for the club, although no one wants to sign bad players, signing bad players and losing fortunes on them would be far far worse.
