Remy has played hardly any football in two years with Chelsea. Hope he makes it but the PL is a hard place physically. Its a waste when quality players Chamakh etc. just can't get fit enough. If all goes well looks like around Christmas.

The worrying thing is that didn't Liverpool pull out of a deal for him a couple of years ago because he failed his medical test? The same doctor now works for us.

It seems a shame that Remy is going back to Chelsea for treatment, I would have thought that if he stayed with us he would at least bond more with his team mates. I assume he would see them on regular basis whilst getting his treatment and rehab. This way when he returns fit he will have to start again well into the season. He is a Chelsea player after all. There is no reason why they can't pay for it.

Good news ...then we can offload Wickham in the January window. On his current poor form, we'd be better off keeping Campbell as back up. Edited by Henry of Peckham (23 Sep 2016 7.54am)

Edited by Henry of Peckham (23 Sep 2016 7.54am) Highly unlikely we offload Wickham anytime soon in my opinion. Even if his form isn't great at the moment, he's only 23 and on the books for another three seasons if I remember correctly. He's got plenty of time to develop, and hopefully with Benteke in front of him, there'll be less pressure to be the finished product now and the coaches can focus more on his long term development.

You are probably right and I certainly hope so. When fit and played in the right position Wickham can certainly score but he's looked lacklustre on the couple of occasions we've seen him this season. I think we paid something like £8 million for him and gave him a 5 year contract so he's not a cut-price bargain from Poundland.

The reason he looks lacklustre is because we are getting used to watching Benteke. Wickham has always looked slow and he seems to struggle to get into top gear on the pitch. My opinion is he has bulked up too much on the weights. Nowadays you need to be lithe and fast to make it in the premier. Maybe it is just his physical shape as he matures. If it is and he can't change well then he is heading for the championship.
