Nowhere did Pardew say that he was likely to be in the match day squad as that would be a risk too far for someone who is Ladbroke's second favourite to be the first manager sacked this season. To be fair to Pardew, one thing he has done reasonably consistently is take a youngster from the U21 along to away games (ooh er) to give them an idea of what's involved.

Hard though it might be, we need to put what happened in the second half of last season aside and judge Pardew on what's currently happening. The team has a different look to it, he's said he wants to change the way we play. Now that the squad has been completed, I suggest we look forward and not back. If results are not forthcoming then something will need to change, but I will try to reserve judgement until end of next month...

Not true. If you watch the interview online he says he travels as part of the squad and he's been impressed with him. He's part of the first team plans

If he spoke clumsily who cares. If he thinks Little Ben is up to it, then let's give the lad a chance. Sometimes managers gave to go with their gut and against the prevailing wisdom. And doing so pays huge dividends (think Fergie in 1990 cup final, sadly). (I'm still in the camp that Al isn't the answer but trying to be fair in this)
If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities. |
