Well after Pardew chose to leave for more money and total control over transfers, the board appointed john carver on an interim basis, and he was as bad as pardew, then after that they appointed McClaren who was probably even worse. So it was definitely Pardew that was the problem then. Benitez and McClaren are both more accomplished and experienced managers than Pardew.

I think the Toon fans are looking for reinforcement that they were right all along. If it wasn't Pardew then they would have to look elsewhere to understand what their problem was. Pardew is a simple solution to a complex question. And he is easy to knock with his dubious morality, his gambling history (allegedly) and his ridiculous levels of self-belief.

The lack of infrastructure at this club with regards to transfers, and the penny-pinching of our negotiators are delaying the transfers which could have settled my fears at least. The WBA debacle was nothing to do with transfers. Pardew was unable to prepare a team to combat a very predictable

When we signed Cisse in jan2012 he scored 12 goals in 13 appearances. Now Pardiola has total control at palace and he says you need more goals he allows players like Gayle to leave, but his incoming purchases have been the likes of Whickham and Adebayor. He will kill your club

Parchmore Eagle, I dunno how to quote but you are right. Pardew done the worst thing a manager can do, and removed HOPE from the supporters. The way you start the season and think "you never know...."

We had absolutely no creativity through the middle, having to squeeze Championship-quality Lee into the no. 10 position. If we wanted a new manager we should have got one at the end of last season. Things will only be made worse by destabilising the club now.

But he can't sustain that level and goes on long winless runs which he can't turn around. That suggests he doesn't really know how to affect a result. But he'll always blame luck or bad luck when it's not going his way He did however seem to do rather well at Newcastle or at least fairly consistently over that period of time, also winning the Manager of the season, and achieving some respectable placing's. Granted I accept it wasn't like the glory days, and Houghton's record was better, but that did include playing in the championship with a premiership team. Probably the most successful manager you've had in a decade (allowing for the fact that Houghton's championship advantage. And it does seem to have been even worse since he left. Is it possible that actually he was playing a rather good hand, with some very poor cards?

Arguably pushed out by the 'great loyal Newcastle fans', than anything else. We then went from absolutely s**t to go onto record our most successful 12 months of football for 20 years, going from bottom, to get our higest ever premiership finish, and second best finish of all time. How does it happen, if Pardew is so bad, that he seems to keep poor clubs punching well above their weight (see Southampton as well) I don't think he's great by the way. But I think he's about the best that clubs of our level can realistically hope to attract.

In 2012/13 we went from 5th in 2012 to surviving with 2 games to go. He blamed the europa league but apart from the quarter final, he usually made around 9 changes from European to league games. Its coming to palace as well and you can't see it

He will kill your club I think only fans and owners can really achieve this. Managers, like players, are transitory. Newcastle really can blame sections of their fans and the board/owners for their problems. Its certainly not Alan Pardew's fault.

He starts well then the problems ztart. Same as at all his clubs. First year he's good then it goes wrong falling out with everybody and makes football no fun. He's all about his own image and ego.
