I think the asking price + wages will put him way beyond what we're willing to pay.

However, I would place him in the Adebayor camp and question his work ethic. I think he might have a few motivation issues, yet that may be circumstance. His eye for a miss isn't either. I thought he'd score dozens of goals at Whingepool but I lost count he missed a floor pass 8 yards out side on to the goal. Every time you see the dopey look on his face. Did he never practice finishing? I'm not saying he'd be a good signing for us cos he may well be, but clinical he is not. But I was impressed the way he took advantage of Dann fussing about vs Villa and him (benteke) making and scoring his own goal. Wickham can lead the line, Benteke robably could. Gayle can't, Campbell we need to loan out for half of his £35k a week and Chamakh will be released.

If we make one signing over the summer. Let it be him. What a player and shown he can do it for a struggling club.

Don't get your hopes up. If it's between us and West Ham, I think we all know who he'll choose.

Every potential transfer target of ours ends up with West Ham or elsewhere. Looks like our most likely signings are Newcastle's leftovers.

Whilst I would love this to happen I fear that our name is being used to draw teams out of the woodwork. Everyone knows that West Ham are in for a big name striker and he fits that profile esp with the price tag he will come with. If Lukaku goes back to Chelsea I see Benteke at Everton. i know it wont be popular but they are newly flush and would pay pretty much the asking price for him as they will be desperate for a striker. We are a smokescreen for this one.

We are a smokescreen for this one. Whilst this may fool supporters and keep them interested does it really fool club managers and owners? Surely some of them are friendly enough to make a quick call to their opposite number to tell them that they aren't really interested
