Sounds like he might be signable, but a lot of competition, but whoever signs him would have to pay loadsadosh. Must be better bargains out there....But clearly as two CBs have been released by Palace, and Delaney is hitting midthirties, this is a high prority area, and we probably need two through the door.

dann to everton and tomkins here is retarded business. we need four decent centrehalves and only have 2 right now. dann can leave next summer when our defence has moulded together.

Noticed today that on sky bet we were favourites to buy three players, Townshend, Benteke and Tomkins. By this evening Townshend and Tomkins had both been removed from the betting. Make of that what you will.

As well as playing in central defence, Tomkins can play at right-back and also in midfield.
