They also went into admin before they had paid for the stadium and shafted the builders

Better shafting the builders than St Johns Ambulance I would have thought

If they went into admin they would have shafted both.

I'm not the greatest at understanding financial matters (as anyone looking at my bank account would know) but this smells a bit like how Ashley is running NUFC as well as Man City, which was cited for FFP violations but then let off with nothing more than a "warning." For me, FFP is nothing more than a fig leaf for dodgy administrators at UEFA and FIFA claiming they're doing something while not being terribly serious about it. P.S., the new FIFA president was cited in the Panama Papers for being involved in financial shenanigans. I should have run for FIFA president since I presently haven't got two coppers to rub together.

Perhaps it is not all so magical.

That allegation was also leveled whilst they were still in the Championship.

Smells as bad as the West Ham stadium deal, but the powers that be will ignore it because they have certain favoured clubs!!Would we get away with it No Chance!!!

Is it compulsory nowadays to have a chip on your shoulder and an inferiority complex before becoming a Palace supporter as it never used to be like that

Probably true, but isn't that exactly how Man City, Chelsea, Liverpool and Man Utd effectively established a virtual monopoly on the league. Man City broke FFP and got to compete in the champions league - rendering the entire concept for the premiership as moot. They also now use FFP as a means to maintain that monopoly creating an environment there they can spend 50m on a single player and pay them 200k a week, whilst other competitors cannot.

FFP missed the point - its about disparity of wealth creating an advantage, not the wealth.

Yes, their is hypocrisy ; Leicester abused FFP in the championship but the rules were put in place to stop clubs spending money they didnt have - but they could easily support this outlay.

It did take Leicester a long time to go up and when they eventually did after a season of consilidation they have ironically debunked the myth that the premier league could only be won by a select few spending millions to do so

Leicester have in effect proved that money is important and maybe more importantly - not as important as some believed!

You sound like a Brighton fan! They are often banging on about how St John Ambulance didn't get paid by Palace, completely overlooking that fact that we fans put our hands in our pockets to pay off the debt. Not only paying off the debt but also quite a bit over too.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

FFP was flawed right from the start. It was a good idea but it hasn't stopped clubs like Brighton completely overspending and amassing a huge debt with the only chance of beginning to pay off that debt is promotion to the PL.

Didn't they have a reduced CL squad?

And £5.5m that the builder never got is slightly more than the £75K I think it was we owed and paid.
