So nice to actually enjoy watching England. Even when we were losing it was good to watch. Alli superb, going to be a top player. Kane great, defence still a worry. Please no Rooney
The ups and downs of Palace have left me older than my years |

Agree mate. Sounded like proper football crowd, without the w**ky band. Oh yeah no rubbish band that's why it was so much better. (Best version of 'cheer up' was to Mark McGhee when we were locked in at Molineux after beating Wolves in play offs)

all the media hype on Kane is a bit stomach-churning, but old Zorro had a great game last night. Vardy and Kane's goals were both excellent - how long has it been since we saw TWO fantastic goals by England in the same match I think Hodgson got the team sheets right, with Kane & Alli teaming up nicely, then using Jamie Vardy as an IMPACT SUB. Bringing him on with 20-30 mins to go and opposition defenders tiring - he's got pace to burn and can sprint into the spaces like a jet. Leading up to the match, even Germany coach Lowe singled out Vardy as an England striker they feared could hurt them.....and he was right. Thank you Mr Rooney, for your excellent past contributions & 50 international goals, but time to give the new breed their chance....last night certainly proved they are ready to lead the Three Lions to some glory & respect on the world stage. Lets all hope Hodgson`s blind loyalty doesn`t take over and take Jack Wiltshire to the Euro`s instead of Danny Drinkwater. Looking forward to Drinkwater for England v Holland Take Rooney for the subs bench & experience and leadership in the dressing room Oh, and the England fans were MAGNIFICENT last night. What a performance. Hold my hands up, I was part of the 'ROY OUT' brigade after we were dumped out of the world cup but the turnaround since has been remarkable. We played well throughout qualifying and last night epitomised the continuous improvement since the disappointment of 2014. Genuinely feel we could be a surprise package this summer, although I expect Les Bleus to lift the trophy. Honestly feel Dann is better than Smalling though, thoughts?

As for the game itself, I'm not getting too elated about the result as it was only a 'Friendly' and we all know that Germany are a tournament team. I doubt if we would have come back from 2-0 down if the game was in "Euro 2016" !

I hope this result will mean alot of Roy's critics will get off his back, he's done a great job and doesn't get the recognition. We had 100℅ qualifying record, 10 out of 10 and yet people still had it in for him. He's brought discipline into a side ruined by the failed foreign manager experiment and up until recently had a poor set of players to choose from

People love to hate the national team. You can't fault Roy, despite not have lots of great players to choose from, he has managed to find a team to beat whoever we have played. I appreciate that it is the Euros where it counts though.
It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses. |

I remember Kane going on 'Loan' to L.Orient, signed by the then manager Russell Slade.Tottenham's Tom Carroll was there at the same time. And I think it was 4 years ago that both Kane and Ryan Mason were on 'Loan' at Millwall at the same time, signed by their manager at the time Kenny Jackett.

A very pleasing performance. We matched Germany for most of the game and for the rest of the time outplayed them, particularly in the latter stages of the match. Whether this is a new dawn remains to be seen. All too often a good England performance is followed by 3 or 4 poor or mediocre ones. Let's see what happens against Holland, but there is room for optimism.
