Kieran Djilali and Kieron Cadogan also both looked promising but never stepped up like so many others over the years.

Steve Kabba - only 46 career goals.

I remember reading great things about Tony Scully, Robert Quinn and Bjorn Enqvist among others during the '90s and thinking what bright futures they all had for us. But things didn't seem to quite work out for them as well as we had all hoped.

I remember will antwi and david hunt in the early 00s broke into the first team and then were relased. Mid 00s to late 00s along with cadogan and djilali i remember james comley, ashley paul robinson and ben kudjodi playing before being released. Lewwis spence james dayton and ryan hall ring a bell.

Rory Ginty. Was he one of our products?
I remember him being this young winger who had real potential but then went off the radar.

Half and half. He came as a youngster from Ireland, but he was still youth team age. Always looked a prospect to me in the youth and reserve teams but never quite made it and I believe had a career in the Irish League in the end. His "other half" from the same generation and also from Ireland was Brian Launders and he was supposed to be a real prospect; very much the next big thing. But he didn't make it either and his career petered out with stints in the lower divisions (and abroad, if I remember right.) Bjorn Enquist was another from that period of time generally; I think he was the Swedish youth team captain and a big coup when he came to us as a youth player. Lovely technique but in my view a bit too lightweight (didn't physically develop) to make it in the end. I think he ended up having a career in the Allsvenskan, back home.

Sydenham by birth. Selhurst by the Grace of God.

Shaun Brooks. Was hyped up big time as going to be the best - after Sansom - out of the wonderful crop of youngsters we had 77-81. He had his chances, got games, but tbh he was a major disappointment.

On a more respectful note, I think that Lance Cronin was highly rated when we punched him from Brighton. Now plays for Whitehaek who I have a soft spot for

Shame that Alex Wynter didn't make it with us

Nathaniel Pinney

Looked the nuts for years, kept Zaha out of the youth squad. Last I heard was playing for Croydon Athletic

Kyle De SIlva is the one I'm probably most upset about. Poor lad had loads of injuries and always looked good but not quite carling I guess.

Lee Hills is another one

Allisane N'Daiye

also two wingers with the same name

just remembered Kieran Dijali and Cadogan
