Fantastic musician, true artist and consulate showman. An absolute giant. I am truly stunned by the news. There appears to be an internet rumour being circulated that it is a hoax but his son and publicist seem to have confirmed it to the BBC.
Yes, I am an agent of Satan but my duties are largely ceremonial |

Every so often there is a truly momentous death. His influence was immense not just musically An absolute genius, I can even forgive him this. His passing closes one of the most important chapters of music forever

Now that someone I care about has died I will take the chance to say this: one of the most contemptable, disgusting facets of this website is the pathetic pleasure some of you seem to derive from creating posts with celebrity names as their titles and the word "dead" in the text portion. It seems that you can't get the post out quickly enough, such is your desire for a small amount of recognition from others' pain and misfortune. This time we even had two posts out at the same time and another five minutes later- you couldn't even wait long enough to check if there was a duplicate thread. It's an insensitive thing to do and not a pleasant way to find out someone you care about has died. I'm not saying it can't be talked about here but jumping on your laptop the instant you find out is NOT the way to do it. Major Tom signing off. Edited by Jamesrichards8 (11 Jan 2016 7.22am) Edited by Jamesrichards8 (11 Jan 2016 7.24am) What are you talking about? Do people put "Joe bloggs" "dead, good suck on that etc etc". No they don't.99.9% of the time the thread title is the name of the person followed by "dead. RIP will be missed etc" then nice things about them.Whats wrong with that? Plus it's tradition on here so don't expect it to change just because your super sensitive. Jesus.

Moose In the sewer pipe... 11 Jan 16 8.19am | |

Can't believe no one has posted "Ashes to Ashes" yet. Perhaps James would be too upset... For Hunky Dory alone, never mind everything else in the twelve years that followed, thank you David Jones of Beckenham. RIP.
Goodness is what you do. Not who you pray to. |
