People saying he isn't that good, are you kidding me?? He was on fire last season, always a threat. Then the speccy Welsh dickhead came in and decided that he's too short (probably). Clearly never going to fit in a TP side, I can see him playing for us. Would be pricey though.

I don't know enough about Berahino to give a really educated opinion but everything I do know and have seen would suggest we'd be very lucky to get him. Of the players we've been linked with, he'd be my first choice every day of the week.

For Tottenham to pursue him like they did and two Chairmen to seriously fall out over it he must have something and Spurs were looking to pay upwards of £20M.

With regards to AP's man management, if he can get the best out of Cisse he can surely do the same with Berahino.

Interesting all the smoke and mirrors that goes on in the window, with AP saying that they haven't made enquiries for any of the players mentioned. If so then where is the false info coming from. Must be being fed by someone...if they ever feel like a career change they should go into politics!!

All these falsies does let them do what they are good at and negotiate under the radar! Interesting times.

Agreed, I don't think attitude would be an issue, AP doesn't suffer fools gladly so he'll be put back in his place in no time and told where he stands.

We've tried the 'big' striker far too much with no success this year, I think we need a quick player up from who will trouble defenders on the ground more.

Pulis has been keen on Jedinak before, so perhaps offering him along with cash may sway it. If indeed we are interested.

Reading this thread and various others on Transfer talk we do seem to have a lot of holier than thou Palace supporters.. Lots of 'bad attitude' etc.. In truth none of us know what goes on at club's and why players fall out with managers.

Let's look at the facts.. Do we have a problem scoring goals?

Do we have strikers who aren't good enough?

Would Berahino be a massive upgrade on anything we currently have??

I would say the answer to all the above is Yes. We need strikers and badly. Unless you want to see Frazier Campbell starting every game for the rest of the season??

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!!

I think the problem there has been Jedi's unwillingness to leave, not our unwillingness to sell him.

Do all the games we've won with a good target man in Wickham not count? I see Berahino as a wide striker, a bit like Thomas Mueller (I know that's a ridiculous comparison but you get the point). Basically a much better version of Gayle.

Of course they count but the fact that our strikers have scored only one goal between them this season suggests that we need more than one option when it comes to the type of forward. Think of the games we haven't won, if we had a different type of player up top then we could be in an even better position.

This is kind of my angle-only gayle hasn't been given a run so I'd suggest to say "he's a much better version" is unfair..its also why I wouldn't want Berahino at Palace-would rather accommodate gayle IF that's the type of striker we want to use. A Murray upgrade is obviously the player we need given our system.

I don't think it is holier than thou. When our team is discussed there are generally 5 recurring themes: prudent management; passionate fans; team surprisingly punching above its weight; miraculous progress in short time period; and on point, fantastic dressing room spirit.

People just fear that the latter may be disrupted by a mouthy Charlie Big Balls.

On OP, I doubt this will happen. However, in the unlikely event it does I assume Wickham can give some view as to his character from their junior England days?

Just read his Wiki page. Obviously I do not treat this as an accurate historic record. However, a poor attitude apparently spills into every aspect of his game... but he is ageing and hopefully maturing.

The other points that comes out: 1 - 2014/2015 season: 45 apps, 20 goals! 2 - he supports Manure and wants to go to a "bigger club". 3 - by way of memory jolt, Baggies rejected serious bid from Spurs in the summer and placed a £25m valuation on him.

For the last 2 reasons, this is probably not going to happen.

Attitude and questionable agent aside, he's not the sort of player we need.
