Kelly will come good I'm not sure what you mean by "come good" but I think Kelly is now what he is: a good Championship player and a decent Premier League squad member. He's now 25 years old, he's been with us for two years without breaking into the first team and on the evidence he's probably now found his level. He covers a lot of positions so he's useful to have around and I would certainly keep him but I think the odds are against him suddenly becoming a significantly better player than he is. He's a utility man and I doubt anything more.

If Bolaise was out for the season, I'd say definitely (on loan). But with Bolaise coming back next month, Williams and Sako fit, I don't think we need him.

I actually am in total agreement with you on this Syd, out of curiosity, where do you stand on the Full back or Centre back debate for Kelly? It's a good question, and I am not sure we have seen enough of Kelly at centre back to really know the answer. From what I have seen he is certainly adequate cover at full back but he would seem to have the raw materials to shift over to the centre back position (and I understand that's where he prefers to play) which, for us, is arguably the position of greater need in the short term. Put it this way; if I was Pards I would be doing everything I could to see if Kelly does have what it takes at centre half. If he did, it would save us a lot of money and it's just possible he could be good enough. Personally, I'd be playing him there at every opportunity (in the reserves) and to be honest, if we don't sell Mariappa in this window, I would seriously consider loaning Kelly out to a Championship club if they were prepared to play him at centre back every week. Although we would miss the depth he gives us in the short term, the long-term benefits of him gaining competitive match experience at centre half would outweigh the short term loss and we might get a better and more experienced player back at the end of the season into the bargain. So I guess what I'm saying is that I'd like Kelly to get the chance to become a Premier League centre half. I don't know if he'll be able to take it but there's enough there to make it worth finding out.

I totally agree he's built like a CB and has decent pace something we lack at the centre with Delaney and hangeland. I'm sure Scott dann could teach him the finer points. He's good cover as you say but not first team full back.
