He does seem to have an eye for a player and an extensive knowledge of the European " market " ..

Clough

I might be wrong but I have a feeling that most of his signings have been on 'Loan; ie Williams,Trotter,Mendes,Ebicilio,O'Grady,Oliveira,Barrow,Akpom etc.

No you're not wrong Willo , excepting Mills and Ward all his signings this season have been loans ..
He simply could not have spent a penny due to the FFP embargo even if our owner wished to give him it ...

Personally speaking I think the guy has performed extremely well in getting the players he has , but , and there's always a but , the football could have been a tad more attractive !!!

Isn't Pinillos one of his 'Permanent' signings as well ?

Where most of the voices of discontent are concerned is with his style of play , solid , defensive , sometimes dour , happy with a 1-0 rather than look for more goals

In actual fact in Freedman's first 6 games in charge, Nottm Forest scored 19 goals ! Maybe Assombalonga and Fryatt were playing !

Think that like McClaren a better coach than a manager

As mentioned a very good eye for a player but we played some real dross under him, that if it had been anyone else, he would have been lynched. I was gutted when he left, he sold us a dream on the last day of the season (funnily enough after the game against you) that made fans believe in him.

When you see his teams play you understand the phrase "Dour Scotsman"

Also likes to chase a pound - just saying

the dignified don't even enter in the game

Keep him, be patient and I think you could reap the rewards. Has an eye for a player and seems to be doing OK with the situation he's inherited. He was cut a lot of slack here because of his playing career with us, but he built a side that still has his mark on it to a certain extent.

I think it was in April last season, we beat West Ham 3-0 away, and seven of the starting XI came from the Championship side that he built.

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

Yes he is Willo , and the best left back we've had in years . Such a tragedy for the lad that he's ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament , an injury occuring with increased frequency in todays game ..

You're correct they were playing for most if not all of those games .. How I long for them to be back in tandem leading our forward line .

Dear Cloughy Freedmans Footballing philosophy was best described in a radio interview I remember when he said: "You start with a point every match and you have to at least keep it! " Basically that if you don't concede you always gain a point and you have gained something.....,

Amazing signings Delaney, Bolasie and Ward ( all for peanuts) are still the heart beat of our team and we honestly struggle if any are missing to this day. As willo mentioned the signings of Moritz, Gardener and especially Murray were master strokes and players that in my opinion were exceptional in their time at Selhurst.

A very good coach, scout, motivator in my opinion I agree maybe still hasn't got the know how yet to get a promotion but your in very good hands. Also despite the consensus that he is a dour gaffer the couple of month run from losing at Bristol City to going top of the league at Peterborough (I think ) in our promotion season, was some of the best football I've seen in my 30 years supporting palace and I attended every game in that run ( I think only surpassed by our Football under Steve Bruce and Pardiola at the moment)

Good luck at forest a truly great club! I will never forget my memories of the city ground as a kid with Stuart Pearce saluting the crowd when he scored a free kick against us with the biggest thighs I've ever seen and John Salako lobbing one in from the half way line in the last minute in a cup tie in early 90s. I think after the initial game had been postponed due to fog that came down on the Trent 10 minutes before kick off. I had bunked school, got the train up and ended up grounded for a game that never actually happened ha, ha.

No-one is as good as Psycho at left back Willo ..

You are remarkably well informed ,.. Are you a Forest fan in disguise?????.

If Pinillos can make a full and uneventful recovery I think he's destined to play in the Prem one day .

Just ignore such piffle. It's way, way off the mark. I talk to a lot of people who are well-informed about such matters.

On the subject of Pearce some while back I had a conversation with Bobby Gould. Gould told me that he went all the way down to Yeovil to see Pearce playing for Wealdstone. He told me that in about 7 mins he decided that Pearce was the man for him, and he signed him for Coventry ! He actually referred to Pearce as "Sparky" probably because Pearce used to be an electrician.
