Thanks a lot for the detailed replies guys.

Have gone and just bought a couple of Amazon fire sticks for the living room and bedroom, pretty sure I'll get the hang of it all once they arrive and I can get it all up and running.

I've got Kodi on my phone and laptop which I have installed Sportsdevil and Robocop on. I got them add ons by downloading them via the internet. What I want to know is how do you add these programmes onto an Android Box?

If you have downloaded the zipfiles. In File Manager, under repositories, I think, it is add from zip file

If you type in exactly what you want on YouTube, there are very helpful videos that will show you how to get any add on.

A Kodi tip for anyone thinking of buying a new telly... Sony Smart TVs run android so you can install Kodi (and pretty much any other android app) straight onto the TV from the Google Play Store. All the other manufacturers have their own operating systems and presumably can't do this.

Been hearing a lot about these boxes. I was wondering if you guys who have already got one could clear a few things up for me?

1. Do you have to buy these jailbroken to get kodi and the football and stuff on them?
No just buy one pre loaded on ebay for £40

2. Are the streams poor quality and always buffering like trying to watch them on online streaming sites or are these streams different?
A lot will depend on your connection whether Wifi or ethernet as well but njm sports have great streams for free. Some of these are better than my Virgin channels!!

3. Can you get apps which broadcast all the satellite channels, which would make it a viable alternative to a Sky/Virgin package?
Yes however they're being taken down all the time so be prepared to continually look for new add ons or streams to use

Also if anyone has a link to a good one to buy from amazon/ebay it would be much appreciated as well. Cheers guys.

But the above link just takes you to eBay with 410 pages of different Android boxes. How do we know what 1 to go for?

buy the raspberry pi from a proper reseller, then to go [Link] and install from there with all the apps pre-loaded.

Bought mine from Munster gadgets.it's called an M8 box.about £60 but he then tweets all the updates to you. I've watched every Palace game that I haven't been able to get to in full HD,no buffering.
