A month ago I'd say we absolutely have to go for someone, maybe a decent bid for Charlie Austin. Now I'm in two minds. I have seen enough of Wickham now to want to see him given a run of games which I don't think would happen with a big name brought in. It's a bit of a gamble given that Wickham hasn't banged one in yet but I am definitely on the side of the fence saying don't buy anyone, give Wickham a crack. I'd be really helpful if he'd bang in a hattrick or something before the window opens so that we know either way!

Whilst I can see the sense in waiting until the summer to get better value but we can all see that we desperately need a top quality striker. We looking for quality its unlikely we'll be able to take our time and think about it for a while, we will have to act in January.

The ups and downs of Palace have left me older than my years

I think if we can at all avoid buying a striker in Jan we should. It's a terrible market to buy players as values are always way over inflated and the chances of ending up with an over price pile of dogs**t is extremely high.

Do the overpriced piles of dogs**t include Ledley, Dann, Hennessy and Souare who were all signed in the January windows?

I still hold this belief we're waiting for our moment to get Loic Remy. If it's not him we'll be waiting to get someone else of good quality and improve on the Jordan Mutch level of transfer. Once Wickham is established, he'll be second choice. I think it'll be done patiently with someone decent, in the Summer if needs be.

Goalscorers is a difficult market though. It's like comparing house prices of oop north with London.

Having said that....and I know it sounds a little crazy, I wouldn't object to a sneaky bid for Bendtner. currently found warming the bench of Wolfsburg and has something to prove....big, strong and extremely good in the air....even if he is a little mental.

Haha I know, but he is the type of number 10 we need, his hold up play is good, and he does actually get on the end of crosses.

We apparently did try to sign him a season ago I think.

Send Bamford back to Chelsea, sell Gayle to whoever, we're stuck with Campbell til his contract runs out. Granada were interested but he wouldn't take a pay cut. See if Liverpool will accept 6 month loan for Ings and, it's on another thread, buy Naismith £5m plus

I'm sure Liverpool would jump at a 6 month loan deal for Ings, seeing he's injured and not due back until June.

Any thoughts ? They may be a thread already but I didn't see it . My view would be to try for Austin again or maybe a European striker with something to prove. I'd allow 20million for striker no more. Anyone else have any thoughts ??

Really ?? I know we are doing fantastic ! However I think we still need a regular goal scoring striker and a centre back to push for Delaney's place.
