Actually, the funny thing is I wonder if Benteke isn't a possibility, at least a vague one (if we wanted him). Alright, I see no reason why Liverpool would be in a rush to sell him but all managers have their systems and their favourite players. Let's say Benteke isn't really the sort of centre forward Klopp wants (which is not to say he isn't a very good player) and let's say, perhaps, that Klopp would ideally likely to bring in someone who knows his system -- perhaps one of his old team members from Dortmund. Are Liverpool going to announce that Benteke is on the transfer list because Klopp doesn't want him? No. But would a low profile bid of the right amount tempt them, and give them money to spend on Kliopp's preferred player? Yes. And are we -- Palace -- now at a point in our development where we might just be attractive to a player like Benteke who two years ago we could never have dreamed about? Probably. He wouldn't be the only continental European player off to the Euros in our squad for one thing.

I don't think this deal is likely to happen. I'm not even saying I want it to happen (although I wouldn't complain.) But I don't think the notion is flat-out stupid. This is the sort of player we need to be shopping for these days; not world class but definitely Premier League class.

Klopp doesn't seem to rate Benteke so I actually think we could buy him never mind loan.

Another possibility for the summer I think would be Sturridge. He and Klopp clearly don't see eye to eye. Injuries are obviously a concern but....................

Liverpool won't be selling any decent players that are still able to play until the end of January.
You might be able to buy a hamstrung model though whenever you like!

I actually think he's the sort of striker that would really suit our style of play and do the business for us.

His movement isn't great but he gets on the end of balls into the box and stays central. Too often we don't have presence or bodies in the box when we break and put crosses in. He's a target man who can finish.

I've read a few interviews with Klopp where he's spoken about working with Benteke to improve his movement and workrate, but it's not his natural game and he's struggling with it. It might be that he's just not going to suit Klopp's style of play and he'd be willing to let him go.
