4-3 by a country mile.

It just wasn't supposed to happen and I reckon not one of the 15,000 Palace fans there that day actually thought we could honestly do it.

you're right, I think we all went up there just wanting to compete, give them a decent game and enjoy the day!!

Coming in the same season as the mighty Liverpool (1989/90 Champions to be) humbled us 9-0 at Anfield it surely has to be the 4-3?!!

More recently, however, the second leg play off semi at Brighton (the Zaha show) was a cracker and who can forget the 3-3 with Liverpool at the very end of the season before last?

Denial is not just a river in Egypt!

To me ,the Zahas 2 goals at the Amex to win in the semi final .That result gave us the momentum in the final .Without that win I wonder where we would be now, perhaps where Brighton are now and not enjoying our best ever spell.

financially 'yes' but don't forget between 1989-92 we enjoyed promotion. an FA Cup final, our best ever result: 4-3 in the semi, 3rd in the league and four seasons in the top flight. That has been, indisputably, our most successful era.

Going back a while (1977) but I remember being 10 watching my day play on a Saturday afternoon over at Foster Park and my job was to keep finding out how 3rd Division us were doing at Anfield in the cup.

I am sure nobody believed me when I kept shouting 0-0.

The replay was a corker as well - we lost 2-3 but what a game for those who remember it

It was the season after we'd beaten Leeds - the 2-3 game I missed, 42000+ if I recall, and we went 1-0 up with a 30 yard Paul Hinshelwood screamer before Pool went 3-1 up and we got a late consolation to make the score respectable - and we went on to go up that season with another classic result - 4-2 away at Wrexham as our final match of the season. Mainly happy memories from our 3rd division days, apart from the 74-75 season which was a bit flat.

plus i honestly think that liverpool, arsenal, palace and leeds sides would murder the top teams today.

The 4-3 semi final against Liverpool, the 3-3, beating Leeds, Chelsea and Sunderland, all away from home during that cup run in the 1970's. The two wins at the Amex, the play off finals...there are many memorable results..

My particular favourite is Reading away, winning 4-2. Victor Moses was totally unplayable that game, and his second, Palace's fourth, was pure class. He bamboozled a few defenders then curled an absolute beauty into the top corner from the edge of the box in front of the Palace support.

Nathaniel Clyne scored his first goal for Palace at the same game. That was at the opposite end of the ground from us, and I'll always remember him turning to the Palace fans with pure delight on his face.

Has to be Burnley 2-0 1979. About 20 od us from school went together and we were put through 2 for a £1, instead of 50p each - so god knows how many were really there. The first really big match of my life in more ways than one.
Unfortunately many of the more recent are distant memories through extreme inebriation!! 4-3 Liverpool - pissed; 3-3- man utd, well pissed; 1996 Leicester sober, but with massive hangover!! 1997 Sheffield deliriously pissed and happy...
So, my Palace life is one of linked to heavy drinking!!

Following Palace since 25 Feb 1978
