We did great business way before deadline day this year. David Pleat called out the Sako deal as the best signing of the summer on Radio 5 Live a few minutes ago.

im not happy to have sold Murray and possibly gayle and jedinak and we sign nobody. I thought there was a chance of getting Austin. Why sell them knowing we are not getting anyone in as cover. We are screwed if sako wilf or bolaise get injured. With very little cover. And no proven strikers. Bad business today !!!

I'm not saying we did bad business at all. But I think our expectations of what we could get in fell by the way side. And if the fab signings we got in, if they get injured we have little of no cover.

Wickham, Campbell, Gayle, Chamakh, Bamford and Bolasie can all play no 9. If we'd have signed Bamford on a permanent deal at 1759 after his season last year we'd all be creaming our white cotton panties. We did our business early and sensibly but we are not Man City; an offer like that for a player on the bench is too good to turn down.

I have complained in the last few windows that we leave things to the last minute so I was very pleased to see that this time we got the purchases that we wanted in plenty of time. Cabaye has been orchestrating the midfield and Sako has managed to score in both games that he's played. I really don't see how we can be sitting in second place in the league having just stuffed Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and have supporters complaining about our transfer dealings We didn't sell Murray without getting anyone in as cover as we got the cover in first in the shape of Connor Wickham then recouped half of the cost by selling Murray. You also complain that "We are screwed if sako wilf or bolaise get injured" but we won't be playing all three in the same team and we have Puncheon and Lee as cover on the wings plus Gayle at a push anyway

Personally I think we did some very good business, seems to improve each window.
