Over 3000 at Edgar Street today to see John Mills score his 20th goal in 13 games. They won 1-0 against 4th place side and go top thanks to the team who were top getting beaten by struggling side also from the city of Hereford, Westfields.

Great result for them - sounds like they have really settled into their season now. Top before Christmas and a scorer with 20 from 13 games ....... we can only dream........

I recall the Hereford manager 'Peter Beadle' playing for Bristol City, in fact he was at that club at the same time as Keith Millen. Talking of Millen, it was Tony Pulis who signed him for Bristol City.

Today's a big day in Hereford City. First league same city derby to be played at Edgar Street since the 1890s when Hereford Town played Hereford Thistle. This time it's Hereford F.C.v Westfields. Since a goalless draw at Allpay Park back in August Hereford F.C.have won 23 consecutive games in all competitions which included a feisty cup game between these two sides which saw Westfields take an early lead before having two players sent off amd going on to lose 4-1. Quite a buzz about the city and close on 4500 tickets have been sold which for the Midland Alliance Premier Division is a record and staggering when you look at some of the crowds in League 1 and League 2. I'll be watching a stream of our game at Bournemouth (villa away and a night on the lash up there in a couple of weeks time mean I can't push things with my wife too much lol) but will be constantly checking the Hereford Times live feed. Will message match details on here later for anyone remotely interested! Edited by herefordeagle (26 Dec 2015 11.51am)

That's amazing, 4,500 is a huge crowd ! Best of luck to Hereford, and of course wishing you blessings of the stream gods

Hereford update. They lost 2-0 at home to Highgate midweek although had around 7 players unavailable and now sit top of the league but second placed team are five points behind with three games in hand. This brought to an end a run of 34 games unbeaten (33 of which they'd won). They are also through to the semi finals of the FA Vase where they will meet Salisbury over two legs for a place in the Wembley final. They won the quarter final 3-2 coming from behind twice and scoring the winner in the last minute of extra time. Their gates are still between 2000 and 4000.

Hereford Eagle, I am thick and rude. However, how are they only 5 points ahead with 33 wins and second place (if they win all 3 games) go 4 points ahead? I will support them at Wembley BTW

The unbeaten run was league and cup. But yes it's remarkable that with that success a team can overtake them!
