Bamford is a great signing

We tried to offload Campbell to Grenada last transfer window, but said he wanted to compete for his place, didn't want the pay cut.

Hoping that Pardew can find s flamboyant multi talented striker from France no one knows about and can score 20 goals a season and we can flog for 20 million next yea or two.

Neither Gayle nor Campbell is young enough to suggest there will be a lot of improvement at this point, although Campbell is older. By the time you reach 25, you are what you are. I would keep Campbell, personally. He is a better all around player and, since neither will start, that makes him more useful coming off the bench as he can replace a variety of roles if someone is injured. Also, while I know CPFC supporters are unimpressed, the fact is we haven't seen the best of him and he does have pedigree. I also think Gayle needs to start and he's not going to do that at Palace. For his own sake and that of his career, he needs to go to a club with a system that will make the most of him. Lastly, Gayle will command a much bigger fee than Campbell and we could use the money elsewhere while we won't get much in for Frazier. This doesn't really boil down to who I think is the better player in abstract terms. More what I think is best for everyone involved taking a lot of things into consideration.

Surely Gayle is the one to prefer coming off the bench late on if we need a goal? Much more of a goal threat. Campbell did ok last season in the little game time he had, but surely the 4 strikers we want in our match day squad should be Murray, Gayle, Bamford and a new 1st choice striker to be brought in? (We'll list Cham as a midfielder!)

In terms of a new first choice striker, maybe N'Doye (relatively speaking!) wouldnt cost a fortune and would still allow us to splash the cash on a new first choice CB?

N'Doye did you not see him at selhurst this season? was useless !!

I'd swap Campbell and Guidiora for Matty Phillips. QPR have expressed interest in both of them and I'd have Phillips every day of the week.

as good as Chamakh is, he cant be relied upon due to his balsa-wood like fragility unfortunately, campbell to me means nothing as, at best , he has been ineffective. Would like to see Gayle given a go as he certainly has something with his finishing, just seems to need to toughen up a tad, physically and mentally.

Clinton is Clinton. I have known him for a long time, I know his mother... Simon Jordan

Does he qualify to play for them? Didn't know you could go from club to country on a transfer!!

Think he means 'Granada' who are owned by the Pozzo family who also own Udinese and Watford.

I've not always been the most enthusiastic about Gayle, but I would definitely keep him now - over Campbell.

My thinking is that despite his limitations in the lone striker role, we have Murray/Bamford/Chamakh ahead of both Campbell and him in a 4 5 1. Where he does bring an increased threat is a/ life and goals to a 4 4 2 and b/ goals off the bench. I think that 4 4 2 may have a role to play sometimes against "weaker" teams at Selhurst, where we need to improve on last year's form.

He is a different option - I don't think we need to do anything pre January/summer on the forwards front, given the above options.

Jackson.. Wan Bissaka.... Sansom.. Nicholas.. Cannon.. Guehi.... Zaha... Thomas.. Byrne... Holton.. Rogers.. that should do it..

I can see Gayle going. Just can't see him being happy to sit on the bench again for most of the season....where as Campbell probably would..

I hope we keep hold of Gayle as I think he's a thoroughly decent player.
