Agents do not need to sign up to football forums to start rumours, They give the reporter at the D.Mirror a fiver and he will put it in the paper. Better to give them a tenner and put in a real paper!.

Not so much a conspiracy theory but... ...when a player is over priced, like Austin for example; why doesn't the agent approach all interested clubs, taking from them QPR's asking price to be put in a pot on the agreement that if they pay the ridiculous asking price, they forfeit their share. The pot is then split between the "losing" teams. The "winning" team, in this case would pay £30m for Austin, £15m publicly and £15m privately. The losing team, let's say based on 6 in the original pot, would each get back £18m back. That wouldn't happen though. The agent would obviously have to let on to the selling team that this arrangement had been made, the selling team would drop their price and then all 6 teams would make their reasonable bids.
