I think some of you are forgetting my original post - who was the most ineffectual, not who was the worst or, depending on your politics, the wickedest.

How has the cretin that was Bush Jr. not made your list?

Was on watch during 9/11, then launched two ineffectual wars - one of which was based on outright lies and has left the Middle East in arguably worse shape than previously - quite a feat by any standards.

Derban likes to provoke controversy. Although his father, G W Bush, probably remains one of the most overlooked presidents in US History.

Derben is G W Bush's son!?

My middle name does begin with a W... and no, it is not W****r.

Carter in many ways, compared to his predecessor and replacement, could be argued to be at least a period of stable non-controversy. Regan unquestionably ushered a new era of US politics, but a lot of the changes wrought weren't necessarily very effectual to the us in the long term.

The trouble is, of course, that Bush Senior was invovled with the 1st Gulf war as President and was the one who ordered "Storming Norman" not to go into Baghdad. That directly led to the death of thousands of Marsh Arabs, the moreso when he didn't use the CIA (of which he had previously been head) to help them and equip them to fight back. Ulitmately it became unfinished family business under "Dubya" to which Blair managed to the UK dragged into.

Unlike his son, I think he realised the dangers of removing Saddam from Iraq, and the fragility of the Middle East. The Shia Marsh Arab Uprising if successful would have resulted in a civil war in Iraq, which at the time would have likely resulted in empowering Iran and Syria dramatically.

With what we know of the events surrounding the fall of Iraq, it was probably the wise play.

No - the answer is the last piece of Carter legislation the Foreign and Corrupt Practices Act allows the US to go after FIFA officials.
