Gromett played up front as a target man.Only saw him early in the season in one game.I have also seen Matt Piper play this season when he was on loan from Worthing.Saw him play at right-back.

Matt Piper used to play for my local team, Burgess Hill Town. Was a fantastic player, was sad to see him go to Worthing.

Didn't Andy Lutwyche go there also? Going back a few years now, but I thought he was really good for BHTFC

A lot of players have exchanged places. I can't remember where "The Flying Lutchman" went, but he was class. Will Berry, Matt Hurley, Matt Piper, Omar Bugiel and Curtis Gayler have all gone from BHTFC to Worthing in recent years. Although Worthing are bitter rivals, I am pleased to see Omar Bugiel scoring goals for them. I rated him at BHTFC but he got a bad press and a bad service. Always seemed to get the blame for our poor performances. I think he broke his leg in the end but he's popped back up scoring goals for Worthing.

Burgess Hill Town - Now there's a club which has made terrific progress in recent seasons on and off the pitch. What a great season last campaign. I have visited the 'Green Elephants Stadium' a few times !

Regards Matt Piper he played a few games for 'East Preston' last season, dual-signed with Worthing.

It was a great season and sort of unexpected (although I refuse not to call it Leylands Park after 16 years of following the club). Narrowly missed out on a playoff spot last season and the manager said he wanted to make the playoffs this season, but no one really realised that the handful of signings he made would elevate the club so much. Unbeaten in the league til February I think and with Greg Luer starting to find his potential (and therefore getting snapped up by Hull who loaned him out to Port Vale) the club stormed it. The signings they've made for next season look reasonably ambitious too so I reckon they'll stay up in the Ryman Prem.

Anyway, sorry to the OP for digressing from the Worthing based thread.

Omar is a top bloke and another who trains my son at allstars soccer, he may not be at Worthing much longer as Bognor are interested and now Adam Hinshelwood has left may struggle to get to training and games. I really hope he stays though.

The Burgess Hill manager is Ian Chapman and I think he is the youngest player to play for Brighton - He was 16 when he made his debut.

Yep. Wasn't going to mention that. His assistant is also ex-BHA....let's pretend that never happened

Good to hear he's a good guy. When he was with us I always told him to keep his chin up, even when his team mates were getting at him. A player who I'd wish well wherever he went. Although I'd say the same about Piper and Berry as well.

Palace U18's away at Worthing on Friday July 24th 7.30 K.O. If you're in the area come on down.

I might well attend this fixture as my home is not too far removed from Worthing.Perhaps I will meet up with someone I know who has joined the new 'Board'.

straight out of page seven of the willo manual , textbook stuff from the boy

interviewer " iggy , do you think you influenced anybody?"
iggy pop " I think I wiped out the 60`S "

Andy Lutwyche was my high school maths teacher. His classroom was decorated with pictures of himself.

There's quite a lot of us in Worthing, even before the premier league. The trains to and from games always have quite a few on.
The amount required to do up the stand has now been reached, so get along to Woodside road, if Palace aren't playing i'll probably be there and there will be a Palace shirt on display courtesy of one of my kids.
