the electorate have decided, why don't you shut up now and stop posting your tedious propaganda links. Edited by derben (08 May 2015 10.58pm) Well said that man. The people have spoken, pretty resoundingly, and the Conservatives have prevailed despite the boundary bias faced by them. Take a look at the local election results also - it seems Labour isn't trusted to run a bath. You'll have to find somewhere else to build your lefty utopia, chaps, because it is pretty obviously not wanted here.
Jackson.. Wan Bissaka.... Sansom.. Nicholas.. Cannon.. Guehi.... Zaha... Thomas.. Byrne... Holton.. Rogers.. that should do it.. |

We voted , they won, get over it. Pretty happy with the overall result to be honest. Thats after 23 years in the forces and 7 years as a lecturer, nothing to complain about as I get to keep the hard earned money I've worked my bollocks off for.

Sure. But,its an interesting article. An opinion, yes. So,sometimes a link on its own can be valid. One loads on here might not agree with. But a valid issue. Its not just based on today's outcome. The Tories are committed to abolishing/amending the Act. Their own last Attorney General criticised them strongly for this. So,being against it is hardly just a tedious "out there" "nutty lefty" opinion. Now they have a majority they are likely to do so,not least because its a way of appeasing some segments of anti-EU/little englander sentiment, even though the Act and the Convention are actually nothing to do with the EU. If they get rid of the Human Rights Act/European Convention on Human Rights, what will they replace it with? There's loads in the press about the Act,but its almost all about a tiny part of what the Act actually relates to. The Act sets out the fundamental rights and freedoms that individuals in the UK have access to. They include: Right to life So,its hardly naff to raise the issue for debate...

The golden dawn gathers steam Of course the electorate has spoken. But who's saying they haven't? Your comments are as valid as suggesting Tories should have stopped expressing a view as soon as the 1945 or 1997 election results came in...and I'll wager you didn't (perfectly reasonably) stop expressing your views after election day in May 1997 Its a pendulum,Sooner or later it swings the other way, especially after another £12 billion of cuts begin to bite...

Surely any changes to protect the country and its citizens can only be a positive. They can only amend the Human Rights Act, as it belongs to the UK, however the UNHDR cannot be amended by anyone, which is the foundations to how we would like to think our great country is being run. Our rapists, murderers, child molesters etc. will finally be given a sentence that cannot be interfered with by those tossers in Europe or those who believe the culprits have issues and need counselling.
