A tough place to be I bet, but at least with chemo you'll have something fighting your corner. All the best.

Jim, Words of wisdom: Ask you Oncologist about any Trial Drugs or Wonder Drugs that they are currently looking at. I participated in a trial of a German Drug that is currently not recognized in Canada and it was amazing. 6 months of twice a month Chemo, followed by 2 years of what they call Maintenance. Although not the greatest thing to go thru, I never missed a single day of work, I didn't lose my hair and never felt much of the nausia or associated side effects. The best part is that it didn't cost me a penny, and each treatment was $10,000 per treatment. Secondly, buy a good juicer and start juicing with whole vegetables; things like ginger, beets, celery, blueberries, anything to cleanse your system. There are tons of books out, start reading. Lastly, keep a positive attitude, try to stay active, keep watching Palace, anything to keep you busy because it will get better. Both psychologically and once you start the treatment physically. No two cancers are the same, but hopefully this helps just a little bit. My thoughts go out to you, Simon in Calgary

Best wishes chap, my mum is currently dying of cancer (chemo resistant clear cell renal cancer that's metastasised everywhere - wouldn't wish it on anyone).

Jim........ all the best with your treatment. All the best to all sufferers of nasty diseases.... I'm in the early stages of Parkinsons and already noticing a deterioration in my mobility/balance/ability to swallow food.

If you haven't read it already, I would really recommend Geoff Thomas's book "Riding Through the Storm". I've thankfully not been in this sort of situation, but I would imagine it's quite reassuring and inspiring the way he describes his experiences and recovery. There are stories from his Palace days as well, which are a great read. All the best.
