At the end of the day they will give put £4 in your front pocket and take £5 out your back, irrespective who is in charge.

The increase of PA to 10,800 is great but this will only increase to 11,000 next year.

When does this come into effect?

RIP staffie

The response by Miliband was beyond weak.

All Labours arguments have effectively been deconstructed one by one

Interesting, the first time buyers ISA looks interesting (I don't own, and never have owned), at a 50 in for every 200 I can see that being

a) abused
b) a money laundering nightmare.
c) carrying more clauses than a fancy dress party at the north pole.

Have cigs gone up, I quit smoking in Jan I'll be livid if they haven't gone up this year.

There must be a cap or some people will have deposits worth more than the entire property!

Of course they have, by 2% above inflation.

Up to 3k apparently. Whilst you still can't knock that as a saving scheme, it does seem like a sticking plaster approach to the housing problem.

Not quite as radical as it sounds, but still a good help for me. Wish he'd brought it out a couple of years ago as I'm already 60% of the way to having a deposit! Still a help though.

And no increase on fags Jamie, I don't think. Not over and above what had already been announced in the autumn statement I think is what he said?

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

It's increased massively since the coalition took charge!

In 2009/10 under Labour, the allowance was £6475.
