Matt Jansen was one of the most exciting players I remember at the Palace.

That and whenever Wayne Andrews went in for a diving header tackle...

Ian Wright
Vince Hilaire
Peter Taylor
Dave Swindlehurst
Kenny Sansom

The other 4 no explanation needed, but big Dave swindles I thought I might have to explain, well the season we went up in 78/79 I stood down the front in the new stand(Arthur Waite) and there was nothing more exciting than this big powerful unit motoring forward chasing a ball forward, once he got a head of steam up he could shift and as a small(ish) kid standing down the front it was quite a sight at times.

Ian Wright (fantastic - so upset twhen he left)
Peter Taylor - (took people on and scored goals!)
Don Rogers - So exciting when he got the ball
Vince Hilaire (he had hair and flair!)
Rachid Harkouk (what a goal at the Goldstone!)

I can't remember who it was we were playing, it was a very high scoring game which we won (stoke maybe?) and he scored a cracking goal virtually from the restart after one of their goals (seem to remember him virtually doing keep ups and running half the pitch before finishing).

Although that was all from memory of the AW view without having seen highlights since... so I may have exaggerated it in my mind a fair bit!
