Quote Hoof Hearted at 17 May 2014 10.50am

I was a phantom bog roll flinger in the 70's from the Holmesdale terrace.

My ultimate achievement was to get the roll to unfurl over the crossbar and hit the opposition keeper.

I did achieve this famously on a friendly v Stoke and the keeper was Gordon Banks. He had a laugh with the crowd as he cleared his goal and sent it back.

There wasn't a football special in the 70's and 80's that didn't pull in to its destination with any bog roll intact Hoof

Seems a bit pointless to me.

Yes and the 'Fad' merely encouraged supporters to clear the toilets of toilet rolls which meant that those who went for a bowel movement were greatly inconvenienced. Not good.

Lordy you must be fun at parties

You find him in the Whitehorse getting smashed before and after the matches. He hires a van for away matches... in the back?

It does to me but if it ever happens again please collect the paper and send it to Mr.Tan at Cardiff City where,I understand, there is a distinct shortage!.

Reminded me of a incident years ago.

Me and a mate had a game of golf in scorching weather, afterwards headed for the 19th...
old boy in corner puffin away on his pipe at the bar,two pint's please....young barmaid.

Cough, cough the voice in the corner remarked, the barmaid can't serve you,no ties.
Sorry she said ,that's ok back in a tick.
with that nudged me mate who's tongue was hanging out
{what now]as we made for the toilet's.
Only to appear back at the bar with tie's,windsor and all
Barmaid served us for our cheek.....

But that old boy was fuming!

It was like having the[flying Scotsman]around!!

Blinding!!!

Doesn't make it right does it ?
There are things that happen in football stadia which are deemed acceptable but NOT by me - no I won't get into THAT debate again !!!!

At the end of the day, I simply cannot see any rationale in throwing toilet rolls on to the pitch leaving aside the factor that invariable they are taken from the toilets in the ground, seriously inconveniencing those that need to use them for reasons which I have explained before.

No, you can't beat Bronco. The cardboard inner seemed a little thicker and aided flight. Then, of course, there the soft landing. That's something Gordon Banks will have appreciated.
In all truth though, the pictures are quite awesome. Willo's right, this can't really happen nowadays. Come to think of it, used toilet paper may be appropriate for the Manure game!
