5 years in the premiership could be worth nearly £500 million in total revenues from TV, match day revenues, merchandising, sponsorship and other commercial activities. Providing it's not pissed up against a wall on useless players with jumbo-sized wages, (which TP won't), long term investment will transform the club. Who needs oligarchs, oil sheiks, p***.graphers or card sharps when you've got CPFC2010 and TP.

Be interesting to see what our operating cost is now we in the Premier League, how much profit there is if any and what they going to do with it. But for now just let them enjoy a well deserved holiday. I think people need to rememeber that wages will be significant, as well signing on fees for the number of transfers we did. Loan fees for Jerome and Ince significant too. We'll certainly have seen a jump in revenue - but personally I suspect the profit would be the region of the difference in finishing last and finshing 11th once everything is taken into account. The more I read on finances, the more I think fans should do all they can to steer clear of any thoughts about them. The lists of items that cost the club are almost endless. The Premier League seems completely mental in terms of things you "have to have" - £1million undersoil heating is the latest, the new gantry, the TV studio that wasn't used once, the additional cameras for match coverage and goal line technology, the electronuic advertising hoardings etc etc Then there is the money spent getting to the Premier League to think about. Then all the stadium improvements carried out. The player contracts. The paying the additional staff. Then paying the manager that left. Then bonuses. I honestly think the initial idea that promotion would transform the club was very different to reality - it's easy to see that irresponsible spending even off the back of the huge financial rewards of the top division could see what we've seen in many of the relegted teams having horriffic debt. You think about Bolton being £130million in the red in spite of a sustained spell in the top division. Hull needed rescuing in a big way. Cardiff nearly imploded getting there and had to accept the only person insane enough to take on their debt. Then there's the less lucky such as ourselves in the past, Charlton who have had multiple takeovers and are now a feeder club for a Belgian team and the extreme example of Portsmouth. Without sustained success or a very disciplined approach to spending, you have to have very deep pockets to survive. So if I read one thread next season asking where the £73million went and why we aren't siging players for £20million I will lose it. Edited by Hambo (15 May 2014 1.25pm)

brilliant, I think the Arther needs and deserves more than hot water and bleach. The concourse and facilities need a major refurb in my opinion.

Absolutely this. You can be damned sure our number of appearances on Sky will increase exponentially next season because the atmosphere we create translates to TV and viewers enjoy experiencing the "Palace effect". In this way, it is not an exaggeration to say that we (supporters) are directly making the club at least a few million a year.

Hambo makes a very good point but we have also done well to get to the Prem without borrowing any money doing it. I think there were almost no owner loans owed to Parish and 2010 by the time we were promoted vs Watford. The sales of Zaha, Clyne, Ambrose, Scannell etc would've had us almost break even from when they took over in June 2010 to promotion in June 2013. We've now survived for another season in the Prem with about £7-8mil more money than scraping survival in 17th, and with a manager who'll hopefully sign an extension and stabilise us as a top division club for half a dedace or more before/if he moves on for whatever reason. All of this has given us an edge. But we also have the ground to gradually redo. We've done it this way round rather than build it, go up, can't survive due to funds already stretched because of promotion chasing and stadium rebuild and hamstring ourselves in some way in the Championship again. The prospects are finally good for us with Parish who already has a personal fortune and doesn't need Palace in some way to create a new lifestyle/juggle finances/live like a playboy. He can keep Palace and his own separate. Edited by Rudi Hedman (15 May 2014 2.03pm)
