Interesting for what it doesn't mention: separating club from ground, siphoning money off for golf clubs etc etc.

His 'reorganisation' of the 80's now being recognised by the Football League as going into Administration.

Can you imagine it happening as quietly now with the internet?

Some love him, some think he is brown, sticky and malty...some think he was a miserly, self serving racist only out for himself and using the football club as a platform to achieve his own aims.....

Wrighty, Brighty and Sir Steve all paid generous tributes to Ron Noades at Awards Night. I have been in two minds about him but was very impressed by what they said.

I shall never undestand the love fest for this person. As Cucking and one or two others have said sepereated ground from the club, shut down the Youth team system to name but two things.

Oh well at least I can go to next season's awards night knowing that this old git wont be mentioned, unless thay introduce an award for Assest Striping, in which case I nominate Pfizer as first winners.

I think if you investigated the accounts of CPFC2010 Ltd, you may well find that the freehold of the ground (and possibly the training ground too) does not appear, and is held by a separate organisation. With an entity as volatile as a football club can be, it is not wise to have all your eggs (or assets) in the same basket

Fantastic video

After watching it, it almost feels like History repeating itself with CPFC2010. Taking over the club during financial troubles, quickly getting promoted on relatively unknown players. Our 11th place finish today isn't as good as 3rd back then but it's definitely much harder nowadays. Who knows perhaps an FA Cup final on for next year aha

Very informative, he really did do a lot for Palace, RIP Ron

Those that are knocking him need to stop and think, if it was not for his reorganizing the club in the 80s, we would not have a club now, because Ray Bloye and Terry Venables fleeced the club and left it with the club Millions in debt, he had no choice, it was reorganize or both would go tits up.

That's correct, Ron Noades did not separate the club and ground, Goldberg and then Jordan done that, the former agreeing a purchase fee, then not being able to come up with that fee.

Then Jordan with the infamous I've brought the ground statement, which turned out to be far from the truth, they were at fault not Ron Noades, if he hadn't held onto the ground it could well have been lost for good under the stewardship of Goldberg and Jordan.

We quibble over terms, Sarge. Selling the club and not the ground very much separated the two. If Goldberg couldn't stump up for both, then Noades shouldn't have done the deal if he had the club's best interests at heart..

But ultimately, it's all owned by the same people. Treating them separately for accounting purposes is very different to selling one part off to someone else, unconnected to the club.
