We need to consolidate our position as a mid table side next season. You can never feel safe in a league like this, look at Ipswich in 2001, they finished fifth got Uefa cup and were relegated in their second season. We're still very much the new boys, we're not yet an established top flight outfit.

I will have a close look at the table after 10 games the coming season and compare it to the previous one. Hopefully we have a few more points, don't think my heart can take a replay of this one.

I have spent so long feeling sorry for myself and CPFC that I have no feelings to spare for other teams' struggles... Well put sir!
And I see signs of half remembered days, I hear bells that chime in strange familiar ways |

Before we get too complacent about being members of the elite, here's who finished 11th and 12th this time last year:

We aren't part of some elite (well not yet) and we lack far behind in the resources of those who have suckled on Rupert Murdochs nipple for a few seasons now, but what we are is a team who are currently on paper the 11th best team in the supposed best league in the world...and in comparative terms done it on a shoestring. We should be amazingly proud of what we achieved this year as a club both on and off the pitch The team, board, coaching staff, manager and fans have attracted admiring glances from all quarters and whilst that's fabulous we all need to remain grounded. We still aren't anywhere near that 'elite' group - lets face it - here are only about 8 clubs who's money and players insulate them from the threat of relegation and we aren't one of those by a long chalk. Next season will again be one where we will have to scrap and fight and struggle, create an atmosphere both home and away of absolute unconditional support and backing for the players and play a system that keep us in games rather than try to emulate Barcelona, we wont be spending ridiculous money on players and we will still be competing against the bottom ten not the top I wouldn't have it any other way Edited by The Sash (11 May 2014 12.22pm)
