f*** him Could not disagree more and a pathetic attitude from a Palace supporter. His choosing us over other clubs was, at the time, a big confidence boost and gave us real credibility that Palace were a viable Premiership club. He scored an important goal in his first match and has since bedded in and uncomplainingly been a hard-working squad player about whom Pulis and his team-mates have had nothing but positive things to say. He leaves us stronger than when we arrived and other young players may well look at his decision to join us and think it'd be worth their doing the same. I am not overly fussed that he is moving on but if you're a serious Palace fan then show the guy a bit of respect. Well said Syd. f*** him...if he wants to go let him...we don't need people who don't want to stay or play for us...however nice he or full of potential he is.

Tom Ince is a class act in the making. A perfect addition to our squad and I'm sure he would compliment everything SP/TP wants to achieve in the future. I'm a fan...

Edited by Lyons550 (09 May 2014 10.01pm) Johnny Byrne ,,,,blah, blah, blah. Your list of Palace heroes must be remarkably short since every one of the above has presumably been told to go f**k themselves as they at some point didn't want to stay with us. It's 10pm. Hasn't mum put you to bed yet?

..and as for the last sentence your memory retention must be slipping as you'd know I'm a more than regular poster on here well past his school days... But their not quite in the distant past as yours...which may explain the memory lapse. The irony in you becoming churlish with me when you're suggesting I should show respect wasn't lost on me either.

Nowhere have I suggested Tom is a Palace hero. I have only suggested he is worthy of our respect. And he is.

Look let's just say we differ on the subject about whether he deserves respect. What we both agree on is that he'd be a too addition should he choose to stay.

No, I likened him to Palace heroes in response to your (ridiculous) claim that we had no need for anyone who didn't want to be with us. I merely pointed out that if we disrespected anyone who fell into that category then Palace supporters would be woefully short of heroes. Otherwise, yes, agree with para 2.

Yes, you likened him to Palace heroes... A tenuous comparison to try and justify your ridiculous notion that a player who's played the few games he has and from all accounts wants to go elsewhere deserves my respect! Perhaps you would be been Better to liken him to other players whove played 4 games and then went elsewhere if you wanted it to carry any weight. I guess it all comes down to how easy it is to earn ones respect....,its clearly far easier to earn yours than it is mine.

There's a bigger picture if he thinks long term that would give good reason for him to stay here - but I don't doubt his primary motivation will, correctly, be to play every week. What he does lack comes in his ability to track back and put in a defensive shift - I would go as far to say as he doesn't want to do it. To play wide in a Tony Pulis side, you do not have the luxury of choice. Every outfield player is asked to close down players and space and maintain a shape. Ince is a player who suits a free role, looking for gaps in the opposition shape and exploiting them. We're not going to change overnight from how we operate so he is faced with the choice of adapting or seeking pastures new that may suit him better. From what has been said though, he has been a very positive influence at the club and has worked hard to do as he has been asked. For me it is obvious his preference will be to find a club that plays him regularly and plays to his strengths - and I don't think we're that club. There's nothing wrong with that - and his contribution, especially in the first couple of games of his spell, was huge in the context of turning our season and pushing on from the work we'd done prior to the January window. Of course it's always possible Palace might put in a bid for him anyway...
