It's all about not losing face.

He's Chinese. They are a wee bit anal about that.

Spot on Kerms. More important than anything in SE Asia hence both guys will have received a huge payment and then braced themselves to read out a pile of sh1t that makes Tan look good.

Perhaps as a club we could unreservedly apologise for, say, twenty million!

Whatever happened to principles?

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

I suspect that Tan needed to put this to bed more than Malky did, so unless there was a smoking gun I suspect Malky accepted a handsome sum to do little more than read a script that no one is going to take seriously -- and now he's free to take a similarly handsome sum as, by this time next week, he'll have been offered a new job which he's now free to take.

Great timing for Malky, he's a good manager, he's obviously hoping to get a decent club before next season. It's also a lesson in how difficult it is to get everything right in the second season in the PL. Cardiff spent big on Cornelius, a young striker with bags of potential, who promptly got injured, was sold off for a massive loss, then starts scoring goals again

"Crystal Palace honestly and sincerely apologises to Vincent Tan, one of the finest club-owners in history, for beating his sh*t team 3-0 and helping to relegate them to the Championship where they rightfully belong."

Malky Mackay in sell out shocker!

I thought he had a bit more about him than that.

Clearly his palms have been greased substantially!

Pretty sure this means Mackay has a new job lined up.

West Ham ? He is a former player !

There's only one thing that bothers me about the dealings of Tan. He must have been stung when finding out someone he is paying good wages to is communicating with their next opponents, even if it is only giving some duff info about line-ups. If it happened at Palace with a Palace player, I'd be pissed of. And I'm paying nobodies wages

I don't think Mackay is as honourable and "a poor little victim" as he'd have us believe.

As nuts and as difficult as that wally Tan must be to work with I think Mackay was playing the media and fans very well.

He was very well backed financially and when the first cracks and difficulties started arising they were then "somehow" linked to the media instead of keeping them in house and confronting Tan and other directors before making it public.

He was playing a game which has resulted in him making an apology and dropping the claim even if it means he has got some money it is not as much as he was probably hoping to get.

But it's Cardiff so I don't care that much!

Exactly

I wonder how much Moody and McKay got for such drivel - probably written by Tans aunty

Moody also thanked Tan personally for backing that proved "decisive" in Cardiff's promotion to the Premier League and the club's fans for their "truly special" warmth.

Moody added: "My two and a half years at the club were amongst the most enjoyable and stimulating of my career and I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mr Tan and the club's board for the support they showed me during that time."

Now give me my massive cheque Tan you prick
