You can't promise someone a place. It should be picked on merit, not potential. I hope it's proved wrong too

I've heard rumours that Hennessey has been told he can play in goal against fulham. I've heard from the same source that Speroni has signed a new contract, but also that when Hennessey signed he was told he'd be number 1 next year.

If that's true it's a disgrace. Jules has been immense this season and has done nothing to warrant losing his place. It would take the shine off what's been the best season for a very long time if Jules is treated badly and doesn't get to play in the last game, or is replaced as no. 1 next season for no reason.

Sincerely hope this rumour is rubbish.

Completely agree. And it's not like we signed a world class 'keeper in Hennessey. Really don't see how he can replace Jules on his current form.

How would that be the case when even Pulis doesnt confirm he's going to be here next season? Codswallop methinks.

Who have you heard from that says all this anyway?

It does appear that if we'd been relegated, Jules would've definitely been let go.

But if Pulis rates Hennesey so highly, why wouldn't he play him this season? It doesn't make sense.

I suppose we have to trust Pulis but it's so strange.

I just have a feeling that Hennessey will play against Fulham.

There is absolutely no reason why he should and we don't do squad rotation for the sake of it.

I think we will Sunday.

He might of just been emotional and celebrating arguably his best Palace season and probably the best season of his life in the best league in the world.

To be fair, we don’t know that. What if Hennesey is better? Would we want to keep Jules because we like him?!

He said he has 2 Years left on his contract and has heard of no other offers.

lets be honest, if any of you had 20 odd thousand people signing your name at the top of their voices, you'd be a little emotional too, I know I would be.

I agree with AE1....I think the likes of Hennessey, Bannan, Joniesta, Murray, Gayle, Gabbi, Parr, Thomas etal will feature for the game in some sort of capacity.

Tho, in saying that, id prefer a full strength side out to avenge the 4-1 humiliation they gave us a SP

Pulis is going to be meeting Parish this week to set the ground rules on budget and discuss his own long term future and I recall Parish saying that he and Pulis would work through contract renewals once the season had ended. There's quite a few to review so it makes sense to handle them all after the Fulham game.

What tosh, no-one is guaranteed a starting place, it has to be earned, if Speroni is performing better than Hennessey then the place is his likewise the other way round, and TP is no fool he's not going to play a second rate player before the number one in any position, and if Hennessey was playing better than Speroni he would already be playing instead of Speroni, the last 13-14 games have been far too important for the club, to play a second string player.

It would not surprise me to find Hennessey, and a lot of the other fringe players playing next Sunday, we have nothing to play for, what ever the result against Fulham we will stay 11th, so it makes sense of TP to juggle the fringe players to give them a taste of Premier Football, and for him to see how they shapeup in a Premier League environment.
