If Liverpool win the league, Rodgers should get it. If he doesn't then Pulis deserves it. There's no way of knowing which of them could have done the other's job. However Liverpool winning it for the first time in however long having not even qualified for the Champions League in years would be a superb achievement. Failiing that though, our turnaround would be a far greater achievement than City or Chelsea struggling to the title considering the money they've spent.

I wonder if the result of the head-to-head will have a bigger impact on Manager of the Year than it does on the league? Both teams and both managers have earnt a lot of respect this season, having surprised most people in their respective achievements.

Pulis all the way he didn't have a prem team and created a side that did so much better than predicted we were down and out last November and to be safe with three games to go remarkable and my dream come true.
I first went to palace when I was 4 a wooden box to sit/stand on and monkey nuts at half time, now 46 years later come on you Eeeeeagles,I |

Tony Pulis - Because Rodgers did it with a squad he's built over a few transfer windows, that was a decent competing team. Suarez cost Liverpool 22.5m plus a fortune in wages and an established world class player. Pulis did it with a team that was bottom, comprised of players who no other premiership team were interested in, and over months rather than years. Jason Puncheon, top goal scorer, was on loan from Southampton and largely regarded as a failure. Rodgers has done well, but the impact of the manager was only to turn a good team, that had been poorly managed by his predessors, into a really good one with a few very good additions (into a squad that featured noted internationals). Pulis deserves it because he took a s**t team, with aboslutely no hope of staying up, and is currently sitting pretty at 11th in the table, with 44 points. Had they had the same resources and capacity to attract players. All Rodgers has done is get Liverpool to compete at the level they should be competing at, and had been competing at. He's done well, but if done as well as Pulis has with Palace, then he'd already have lifted the Premier League. Pulis achievement at Palace won't win, but all Liverpool have really achieved is to return to where they were five or six years or so ago. But they're 'footballing royalty' and every c**t will bang on about how they're great again - but they never should have gotten so s**t in the first place. Where as Palace, who the f**k are Palace!
Sorry to be a pedant but you don't fully concur with his post!!

Could one argue that Poyet (if he keeps them up) has done as good a job with Sunderland as Tone has with us?
Clinton is Clinton. I have known him for a long time, I know his mother... Simon Jordan |

Seriously, he's a good manager but the rise he's had at S'land isn't as meteoric as Tone's.

Lets compare the respective records : When Poyet took charge, Sunderland were bottom of the table with 1 point after 8 games. When Pulis took charge of his first game at Norwich, We were 2nd from bottom with 7 pts after 12 games.

Just seen TP's interview with Jeff Shrieve of Sky..He came across as a modest, humble, intelligent man who shares his success as manager with the team and gives the cautious impression he may well be with us for some time.I have changed my view from when he first took over and hope he will stay for at least a few seasons.I cannot think of a better option. Can you?
