All good points. However, we now have something like £250million guaranteed over the next four seasons no matter even if we get relegated so maybe the £50million i mention isn't such a big deal?...
With the Play-Off final being the "£120 million game", I think the crude assumption was £60 million for this reason, and then if relegated, another £60 million spread over four years. £60 million for this season wouldn't have been far wrong, if we were bottom. As we know, we're in for around £70 million.

With TP relegation shouldn't happen, unless we get a nightmare of injuries like Brum did to their CB's and def mid's after the League Cup victory. But if we did experience that or TP leaving for whatever reason, after committing well above the revenue + parachute money amount in wages, hopefully the players would have enough quality to actually have buying clubs match the wages we're paying them. Parish is no mug and it'll all make sense with joined up thinking rather than Portsmouth spend till it all runs out or Jordan's spend little when here and a chance to stay up, whether through choice or people put off by him, and then mortgage every floor tile and tea cup trying to get back into the Prem. We've got clued up owners and an experienced manager in the top division and below.

But that aside we do get another £65mill next season too no matter what. Add season tickets and whatnot then realistically that's £70-75mill plus whatever is left over from this. Edited by Kermit8 (29 Apr 2014 10.31am)

do it. its less than we've got coming in and will be covered by future guaranteed income. Its obvious that to survive, we need better , stronger players long term.

I don't think £30mill is unreasonable then.

You obviously have to pay for quality at some point and eventually ditch the relegation wage clauses in CPFC favour. Another point is that Birmingham City have been hamstrung by one player in particular. Zigic is on £80mil per week draining £4mil per season. With TP at the helm and SP agreeing budgets we'll be okay. But you've always got to be cautious if TP dies go elsewhere. Another manager could come in and royally f*** it up, and rapidly.

CPFC 2010 are holding the purse string and Tony Pulis will spend what they give him. I am confident both parties will be wise and well judged in what they do.

What TP get's will be between CPFC2010 and him. I'd be a tad surprised if TP has had a cosy chat with a journo down the pub, so I'd say this dickhead is pulling a figure from the air.He works for the Daily Mail. It's what they do.

Don't wory, at the moment, we also have Moody who we can blame for overspending and subsequently sack because it was his fault. Meanwhile he can keep on getting other teams squad sheets for us.

Yes, but although SP's favourite colour is mauve when he renames the club the Croydon Caterpillars we are going to play in yellow and green hoops!!!!

Salaries will probably be included in the budget. Tony Pulis will keep us up whatever happens, so I wouldn't worry about us going down and losing the income to sustain all the players - and in any case, I'm sure TP and the board will be shovelling out all of Holloway's leftovers before they start on a shopping spree.
