This from the Mirror, for what it's worth: Pulis has also promised a “clean slate” for his players next season, in a move that is likely to see club legend Julian Speroni replaced by Wayne Hennessey. The Argentine is out of contract this summer and yet to discuss a renewal, but will be informed that he is no longer guaranteed the number one jersey despite 10 years at Selhurst Park. Leicester City and Sunderland are reportedly interested.

If Jules stays they wouldn't take the number 1 off of him. Even if Hennessey becomes the 1st choice keeper over the summer.

No source or quotes here, but seems to back up what's been said: Crystal Palace to offer Julian Speroni contract beyond end of the season Crystal Palace will table a formal contract offer to goalkeeper Julian Speroni next month. The Argentine has been one of Palace’s players of the season, helping them maintain their Barclays Premier League status following promotion with a string of superb displays. Speroni is out of contract this summer and his future has been uncertain as a result, and Leicester and Sunderland are two of the clubs who have been monitoring him, but manager Tony Pulis will undoubtedly want to hold onto the man who has kept 12 clean sheets in 36 games for the Eagles this campaign. The 34-year-old is currently the longest serving player at Selhurst Park, having signed for the club from Dundee in 2004, making 347 appearances in that time. And despite still being uncapped at international level, he will also be harbouring hopes that his form this season will have caught the eye of Argentina coach Alejandro Sabella ahead of this summer's World Cup. I can't think of a more deserving reward after the season he has had. But, at 34, will it be a 3-year or a rolling 1-year type deal do we think?

5 year deal, £120k per week, fist choice keeper guaranteed. I'd even let him take corners, free kicks and pens if he wants them.

It's only fair that he's given a chance. He's perhaps a more aggressive individual with the sort of inner steel that appeals to TP. Jules will probably be given a well-deserved testimonial in August, then discreetly be shown the Selhurst exit door. If that is the case, he will go out at the top and be forever a Palace legend. Maybe that is for the best as Tony Pulis looks to the future and prepares to make his own stamp on the team. As for the Selhurst Park restaurant, that could soon be looking for a new name.

If this is true, its amazing and very humble. He still has a few decent years left in him and could easily move elsewhere to guarantee the No.1 shirt where as staying with us he is going to have massive pressure on him and no guarantee but his love for us is obviously huge. Big respect to him.

Listened to the interview and really impressed by SP's knowledge of football generally. The man's clearly top drawer. However, the point about Puncheon being his player of the year on the basis of his winning goals is interesting. My feeling is the stats showing how many saves Jules has made and how many clean sheets he's kept considering how much pressure we've been under through lack of possession are far more impressive. IMO this requires concentration and skill of the highest order. We've all seen the critical saves and big claims late in the game when we're chewing our fingers off. The blokes a legend

Totally agree about Puncheon being a confidence player but would have thought that his goals, media attention and the contract SP referred to would have been enough to make him feel loved. JS however doesn't currently have the latter.
