Couldn't get to the game yesterday due to illness so watched it on TV and had the benefit of replays not available in the stadium. I'd say on the day Webb got all the decisions basically right, unlike the Southampton game.

However, having said that one thing did come across, He was very quick to book Palace players but very slow to do the same to City players. Deliberate hanball, free kick rightly given but no card shown, tackle from behind (Milner on Ward) no card shown but when Ward did the same card out no problem. Mr Webb is very friendly with players from the "bigger" clubs and various England internationals, came out at half time laughing and joking with some of the City team but is stand offish with our players.

He does not overtly favour big teams, but clearly certain players get a good deal more from him than others. Bolasie would have to almost hit over the head with a brick to get much from him while Southamptons Llanana only has to give him a sideways look to get a free kick.

With luck he will cock up a major game in the world cup and be found out.

I don't disagree with any of this, but I think that is part of playing to the referee, which you have to do in any sport. It is probably more true in the PL where there is a smaller pool of refs, so you do get the same one more frequently. Llanana was most certainly in his ear - hopefully our players will learn to do the same and have a chat and a joke with him as well. Perhaps that is already happening as I thought that he was much better v Villa than v Southampton; and prob better again yesterday. Whether that is right, is debatable, but if that is the way it is - then you need to adapt and try to use it to your advantage.

We now have another season to do this and for him to get to know OUR players as well. Will we start getting the same favours as the big 6 ? - probably not; but we may against other mid table and lower teams.

I got vision, and the rest of the world wears bifocals.

Pretty much spot on with that assessment. Very quick to book our players and not so quick with the opposition. He didn't have a great deal to do other than that but I do wonder why he kept pointing at his watch for the substitutions and then added the standard 3. It's about time players were cautioned for taking so long to depart and if they have already been booked - tough! Give them a red and abort the change! As a minimum at least add time on!

Whenever I watch him referee, it always seems to be about him, when it should just be about the football.

It was my dream to play for Palace and to make my debut. I've always played for the club so if I'm playing here, I wouldn't want to be anywhere else.

The idiot in holmesdale upper tier is in our row.he always abuses the ref whoever it is and uses foul and abusive language.
don't get me wrong we all have a moan at the ref but this bloke is beyond belief and nearly got a thump yesterday.
He was also moaning about the lack of home support yesterday.
The bloke is a real nuisance and needs banning...

And when you complained about him the stewards said what?

He's been sat near me for a few years now. Sometimes he can be (accidentally) funny. The problem is that he just hates Webb and is convinced there is an FA conspiracy against us. Even when he gave us a decision you got 'I'm surprised you saw that you tosser' or something. Yesterday was by far the worse it's been.

Doesn't bother me too much but I can see a few people around him getting agitated.

Still think Webb had a decent game, got the big decisions right and there were couple of bits of good refereeing such as coming back and booking players after letting the advantage go on for a minute or so.

Southampton was shocking and now the bloke can't win. People complained yesterday when he played advantage and Puncheon found Jerome 20 yards out in a position where a better first touch would have had him in on goal. They wanted the free kick. In the second half he pulled play back when we had possession and the same people complained again!

Employee of the month is a good example of how someone can be both a winner and a loser at the same time.

Webb clearly shows a bias towards the bigger clubs, They heap huge pressure on Refs who know that mistakes against top sides are put under the microscope but quickly forgotten against the lesser sides. Fergie, Wenger, Mourinho are masters at manipulating refs.

Watched the first half on TV. Shame on me for turning it off but we're safe and didn't really play football worth watching in the first half.

From my point of view on the sofa, Webb made a few decisions in the game that looked wrong and without the benefit of a TV replay, I can see why the fans were Tweeting about what a 'mare he was having. But I hate to say it(as I think it was Coach 3 said) with the benefit of TV replays I didn't see him get anything significantly wrong in the first half. In fact I struggle to name anything he got wrong. I thought he'd made some mistakes against Villa (namely in his giving of advantages, NOT in the lack of penalties we all wanted and thought we'd been given) but in the first 45 minutes of the Man City game I don't have any complaints.

In fact, if he was able to get these decisions right without the TV replays that I was privy to at home, he did a pretty damn good job.

I'd love to slate the guy, I'm not a fan of him at all, but I couldn't criticise him for the things everyone else was shouting about.

Webb is a top referee who has had a stellar career, refereeing at the highest level. He like all referees can't get it 100% right ALL of the time and we shouldn't expect them to do so.

Who are we big Sam?!! Please don't be one of them teams that blames everyone for everything, the grudge against Howard Webb is unjustified yes he may have made a few questionable decisions in the saints game but he was very good yesterday kept the game flowing as others have said.

I'd like to know how we got him two home games in a row - shouldn't there be a rule against that happening? As others have said, very slow to book their players but happy to flash yellow cards at ours, and the 3 added minutes was a joke - Toure took about that long on his own to get off the pitch.
