For Gods sake, these players have got us to 11th in the premiere league. What do we need these "better" players for ? To push for a champions league place ?

A left back purchase is must, I'd like to see Ashley Cole. If our wage structure will support that.

Its a strange one, because in part, we have good wingers in Ince, Puncheon, and Bolassie, but at the same time, we could still get better wingers. I think One more would work, if Ince stayed with us. Moses would be a great addition. We need one left back, for sure. I think we need a creative central midfielder. Would Campana work in the team we have today? And then of course, one good striker. Again, as much as we are doing well, lets not get too carried away just yet! We are still a small fish in a big pond in the premier league and its going to come down to the fact that there will still be 3/4s of the premier league teams that can pay more for players and put them on higher wages. Ultimately, we need to work with what we have. If Pulis stays with us, I think we should be able to get 3/4 good quality players in, offload deadwood, and get ready for next season.

The squad needs improvement and upgrading in several areas, and that's just to stand still. Edited by Cucking Funt (27 Apr 2014 11.01pm)

Exactly. Don't get me wrong, I'm over the moon and incredibly proud that we're 11th and that we survived. I just think it's a great opportunity to strengthen, there are several basic areas where we are weak: dead ball situations, and crossing are ones that stand out for me.

Edited by Cucking Funt (27 Apr 2014 11.01pm) Yes of course, there is always room for improvement, and in this league you can't stand still, but to come on here after 5 straight wins, and a loss against the probable champions in which we competed and had what I believe to be our highest possession rate, and pick out Mariappa, who I thought had one of his best games in a Palace shirt, Puncheon, who is our top scorer, Bolasie who scares defenders to death and CamJam , who with the system we play is possibly the best we can get. The OP should of waited until a couple of weeks into the close season when the pride of what these guys had achieved had died down, and we could analyse rationally where we need to improve and how to try to sustain what we've got.

We need some cover for Jedi. I would say some competition for the great man but feel that would be disrespectful as he gives 200% even without any. The thing that has worried me all season is what we do if he get injured or fatigued. He'll be going straight into the World Cup with Australia and although they won't progress past the group stages he will still have put in an almighty shift from last season, into the play offs, then the WC qualifiers for Aus head first into a premier league season and then a World Cup. Something tells me that we would be wise to get competent cover for our captain marvel.
"We love you Palace, we f@cking hate Man U, We love you Palace, we hate the brighton too, We love you Palace we play in red 'n' blue, so f@ck you, and you ... |

Left back and a striker. If we could merge the strength and pace of Cameron Jerome with the finishing ability of Gayle we would have a decent striker

I've seen Snodgrass mentioned as a full back a few times on here! Must be a reason for this what seems to be common misconception
