We should do a Wolves and spend all we have on a new ground. It worked out fine for them.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

From what has been said before its going to be rebuilding a stand, and sure Pariah said that Sainsbury's wants to be part of all this and plans are for them to expand their store!

After our incredible success on the pitch, I'm sure the board are drawing up plans to build a new stadium. After all, if we want to be a strong premier league club over the next decade, our current stadium needs demolishing. Perhaps a return to our former roots - Crystal Palace park? Otherwise they will need to destroy Sainsbury's next to the stadium, pay them a nice sum and expand our current site.

....keep your feet on the ground! one stand at a time needs rebuilding, perhaps lower pitch if possible.

Lowering the pitch is possible given that Selhurst is unusually wide, (I believe).

The other option for expanding capacity is to push for the introduction of safe standing areas. All-seater stadia were required following Hillsborough and now that the truth of that incident has come out (and the success of standing areas in other countries) the time is right to review the Taylor Report.

Stay at Selhurst for me. Develop it and a Villa Park type look would do nicely.

In the interests of accuracy I have checked and our pitch is about average width and shorter than average. Doesn't give much scope.
The reality is that we need to build higher but the council won't let us build higher at the sides. No doubt if we said we were building office blocks there would be no problem at all.

It has to be Crystal Palace Sports centre. It needs revamping and the Olympic stadium created for the 2012 Olympics makes it now obsolete. Really is a no brainer going forward and that's where we started in 1905 before WW1... Agreed had plenty of memories at Selhurst but so outdated and let's face it not the prettiest. Issues are the many councils at CP Park and as we all know means lots of red tape.

The pitch is being completely ripped up straight after the last game for undersoil heating to get installed, so any lowering of the pitch I would assume would be done here.

As for building higher, the roof of the Main Stand is a massive pitched roof, we could add a small higher tier and a flat roof without adding too much height to it. Could be an option.

Even with undersoil heating we could still lower the pitch in the future as part of a bigger project (Chelsea relocated their three other stands to match up with the East stand and "bring" the pitch i). In an earlier thread one of 2010 MB? talked of our place money this season being used to start rebuilding the ground. Even though our nimby neighbours stopped uncle Ron from rebuilding the mainstand I think it might be worth revisiting again now as Croydon should look at us more favourably.

Enjoying getting up later and not having someone who knows better than me (apart from the missus of course).

I think it will cost around £1 Mill to install the undersoil heating.
