I think its quite easy to obtain mid table obscurity on a regular basis. We are basically at the top of a 10 team league. All the teams below us are extremely mediocre to put it mildly. There are only about 8 decent teams in this league. If you have got a quality manager with nous, which we have, you can stay in this league for as long as you like. It will become a bit mundane which is why Stoke and Charlton fans started to get bored and demanded a change. It paid off for Stoke but not for Charlton.

Utter Tosh, of course it isn't easy. Player for player every team in the Premiership is superior to ours. I think the effort of the team and management has been absolutely fantastic and I find it incredible that you can belittle our achievement like this. It will take us many years to get player parity with most of the 'mediocre' teams and until then our club will need to work incredibly hard if we're to stay in this league.

We are CPFC. We shouldn't have to put up with meaningless, end of season mid-table clashes like yesterday's bore-fest. I appreciate everything Sir Tony of Palace has done, but I think he has taken us as far as he can. Time to bring in someone who can take us to the next level. COYP.

Hopefully that was said tongue in cheek

Maybe not a job for life but certainly a 5 year contract.

Lose 3 games on the bounce, play boring football, hoof ball only win by 1 goal and there will be plenty of Pullis out threads.Wont take long

I think there were after the Newcastle and Sunderland games!

Unreal post!!!! Nothing wrong with the tactics and we could have had a hat full of goals if we'd taken all our chances!!!!

Agreed.

Not sure it has paid off for Stoke just yet.
Not seen them play much , but I am not seeing any plaudits about how great they are playing and they are only one point above us. They are still playing Peter Crouch so is it hoofball ? Could struggle next season.

I am not belittling our achievement at all. What TP has done is little short of miraculous. What i am talking about is once you are established in this league and you have the right manager, which we most certainly have it is relatively straight forward to stay there. It is taking it to the next level that is the problem. This season Pulis proved how brilliant he is by lifting us from a position of no hope. Next season we will level with the rest and i fully expect TP to keep us there again

I'm tired of him already....LOL

This new tactic of getting the opposition teamsheet early and developing the tactics to beat them is getting boring!

Oh for the days when we were a roller coaster club!

As was said above, we don't sack managers. Pulis isn't going to do a Burley.

The entire club needs so much money at the moment - the stadium, all the technology, we're still re-building the club. For that, we need Premier League football. As long as we're in the Premier League, Pulis has a job for life.

Important to look at it from a different point of view too. Look at every other manager in the league, and who can anyone say would improve our team? Pulis has about the best record of anyone.

We're winning and playing pretty good football.

There are 8 good teams that are above us who have spent a Raja's ransom to be there....
