With the exception of the Portsmouth administration (where the rules are clearly set out), the EPL has never resorted to points deduction as a punishment. If it didn't do so in the Tevez affair or Sunderland recently, it's not going to do so over this storm in a tea cup. It has never ordered a game to be replayed either. At worst it will be a fine, possibly for Cardiff for wasting everyones time Didn't they deduct Middlesborough 3 points for not fulfilling a fixture?

I woke up this morning with no concerns as Palace had hit the magic 40 against all the odds. I carefully removed my jottings with all the relegation teams fixtures and likely points they would achieve. I satisfied myself that Norwich wouldn't get 9 points in their last 4 fixtures. I then got worried as I had nothing to worry about and then it happened. 1. Our result at Cardiff is going to be void! Where's my bit of paper? 2. Swansea have been "interfered" with by an outsider? Surely not Moody again! 3. Now Aston Villa are sacking coaches following our victory over them! What has Gerry Francis being doing? 4. My brain keeps going back to being relegated with 49 points especially as I celebrated we were safe with an 8 point lead with 3 games left. It now feels like it Xmas Eve and some sod has nicked my turkey. Is it just me being paranoid or is this what being a palace supporter is about? Extremely paranoid, are there helicopters outside?

Agreed. Cardiff could actually come off worse from this. Look at the supposed timeline and they knew about the 'leak' well in advance of the game they now claim was unfair. They were wrong to not report this straight away. Wrong to let the game go ahead without any hint of a complaint. They seem to have thought they were going to win the match and then would be able to deal with the incident 'on the quiet' behind closed doors, as it is actually their staff who have broken the rules (as long as Moody has not offered any financial benefits). They got spanked, however, and then decided to try and come after us. In light of this I think that they will get a fine regardless, and we will only be punished if concrete evidence exists of wrongdoing and that punishment will be a fine. Wrong doing, what "wrong doing" since when was it a crime to text someone and ask them for info, and just because that person gives that info does not mean it's a crime, it means there's no loyalty from them towards Tan.
