I worked this same thing out yesterday and the flip to it is for them to overtake us assuming we don't get another point all season... Sunderland can only afford drop 5 points So as soon as those teams 'drop' those points then we are safe...and what we do is irrelevant Norwich, WBA and even Swansea are looking vulnerable to the bottom three a hell of a lot more than we are...who would have thought that in August You did Sir, I noticed. And very well put too

For the bottom four clubs they need the following to get more points than Palace. Sunderland (GD is 10 worse than ours) 13 points from 6 games. You also have to realise there is one match where two are playing each other, Sunderland v Cardiff. Sunderland need 5 wins or 4 wins & 1 draw. Perhaps Sunderland may only require 12 points to finish above Palace as they could finish with a better GD, which is of course 4 wins.

All assuming that we don't pick up any more points which is highly unlikely. Oldham still hurts so I'm not jumping on the bandwagon just yet, but I'm quietly confident that we've got our best chance ever of staying up.
And I see signs of half remembered days, I hear bells that chime in strange familiar ways |
