Totally disagree! A clear penalty. But not as far as Webb is concerned. A great set piece which really caught them out. Holt catches Yannick's standing foot as he is about to strike and he goes down. Also watch the reaction of all our nearby players. Don't often see a protest like that. In addition, Guzan barged Jedi down in the box which to me is a foul and therefore a penalty (not shown on motd). Ok, Webb looking away at the time, but linesman could have helped out as he did to correct the penalty decision he did give. Another great team performance and a desrved win - really proud of them!!

I thought is was a truly dreadful performance by Mr. Webb.

I lost count of the number of times he simply turned his back on where the ball was and sprinted up the pitch thus missing what was actually going on. Once such example being Guzman's 'assault' on Murray.

It staggers me that match officials remain as inept today as they were when I first went to matches in 1959.

By awarding the penalty initially clearly showed that he just guessed it. He should have consulted the lino first rather than looking like a fool afterwards.

No, he gave what he thought he saw, the player definitely moved his body to the ball and contact was made, in normal play time that could have looked like an arm made contact with the ball, and he had the commonsense to consult the linesman.

He got that one spot on, and the one with Bolasies less than graceful theatrics 100% correct, neither were penalties.

In actual fact Webb reacted to the linesman pointing to his chest which normally indicates a penalty, but on discussion the lineo was saying the ball hit the player's chest.

I still think Webb missed things and would not be happy with him refereeing us every week.

He completely ignored the challenge on Bolasie which I believe was a pen (why would he go down with the goal at his mercy?) and didn't even see Guzan take out Jedinak.

There have been some truly dreadful refereeing performances in our games this season and Webb has been culpable in two of them which has angered a lot of Palace fans. This obviously leads to a lot of anti webb feeling, but the point I think I was trying to make was that because of that bad feeling do we always pre judge him and accuse him for every game, or are we big enough to judge each performance individually. Yes there were mistakes yesterday, but you will get mistakes in every game. None of them were catastrophic. I'd still prefer him not to ref us, cos I believe he still thinks its all about him, but I am prepared to say that previous performances annoy me, but yesterday, he was alright.

That is correct - but where was our corner to restart play? Bolaisie chop down when villa player injured himself was another. Refs get decisions wrong all the time but rarely in applying the laws

He didnt look the fool at all...he did what he was supposed to in those situations and listen to his assistant who was in a better position. Not many would change their decisions. He doesnt get enough credit as far as i'm concerned...we have so many blinkered fans at times.

We are not the only club going off about our Howard. Found this on KUMB, West Hams forum.

Please god tell me he is not in charge next Saturday?

To be honest usually he doesn't deserve credit cos he always bottles the big decisions, but he did well yesterday.

Ex-copper. Billy Big Bollocks. Unpredictable and inconsistent. Not as good as he thinks he is.
