Wasn't having his best game today before he was subbed off, but there have been times when he's been fantastic. Plus Jedinak always seems to play a bit better when KG is next to him, which is always a bonus.

I thought Jedi was better when KG went off. One of his best games of late. Even his passing seemed to be a little better.

There are many on this site, who state Kg's place in the side is based soley as being part of a system. Kg was injured early doors today and the team just was not firing right. After he was subbed Palace did not revert to another style and so were still unable to play coherently. But once TP had got the message over to alter the way they were playing, with Chamakh pushing up and the wingers and full-backs breaking without holding back, then Palace seemed to click.
This surely shows kg's place as a systems man and the advantage of not having him the side, so as to allow Palace to use their attacking strengths confidently. The futures bright.

Ironically the playing style was changed to the same one that we played against Chelski and Cardiff, in that the other DF (in this case Ledley) was played slightly higher creating angles in between the lines. The reason we were bereft of ideas up until then may well have been due to KG's injury in this instance...but until then he was simply too deep. When Ledley got in there we looked far more adventurous and the passing improved. Perhaps KG pulled his hamstring with one of the few woeful balls he hit in the first 15mins?

Well i will probably be slagged of by most and the well informed on this site however here goes. I disagree with those who slag off KG, I think he plays an important role and generally does it well. Every team needs a holding midfielder who stops and breaks up play, he does that, his mobility could be better but there are parts of all the players game that could be improved that is why they are playing for Palace and not higher clubs. for God sake get off his back and support him. GM has been out for a year and is not exactly setting the world on fire but he is not continually bashed when he doesn't score and that is right so applaude KG for what he does.

Yeah same.I think all this "Jedinak plays better with him in team" and "you only realise how good he is when he's not there" rubbish is all a bit of a myth now.Not slating him because he's actually looked a lot better the last few games but we definitely didn't miss him yesterday.

While I think KG has a lot to offer I do sometimes wonder if he can read a game, whether he realizes that he tends to drift too deep and whether he has something in mind when he passes the ball. I don't say all these negatives become apparent at the same time but on reflection they do lead me to question his overall ability.

We didn't miss him yesterday, but if he hadn't been here for the whole season, I think we would have missed him. Look at it this way, we've all hailed Tony Pulis for what he's done here, and if he continues to pick KG, then I have total faith in him, as he wouldn't be picked if he wasn't doing something right. Also been reported that lots of clubs (some better than us) are interested in him.

Don't get me wrong, he's by no means our best player, and didn't play particularly well for the 10 minutes he was on the pitch yesterday, but personally i think he is an important player for the team.

Not at all, we were very disjointed after KG went off, until we settled into the new system, plus we definitely looked more solid at the back with him there.

Yes we did, he went off after 18mins, it took us until about the 30-35mins to settle down and reorganize ourselves, from then on we took over.

I meant we didn't miss him as we still went on to win the game, but I agree, after he went off we looked a bit more vulnerable in midfield when they had the ball, but that was probably down to Chamakh being a more attacking player.

I was watching the line during this incident. Chamakh was doing his final warm up and was called to the dugout, before there was any indication of KG being injured.

Alex Manos ran out and gestured to KG to go to the ground. Which he duly did. Then he was subbed.

Maybe I misinterpreted what happened, but this is what it looked like to me.

Tactical change, under the illusionary auspices of an injury? Or plain chaos theory on my account?

The Truth is out there.

To be fair his 'weaknesses' have not changed for the 2 years he's been here!
