Spurs already had that "Saints Go Marching In" funeral dirge. Not nearly the same intensity.
Big shout out for this solid. Watching that legendary squad brought tears. Didn't see it when it aired 'cause i didn't have Sky. Have some brews on me (smilies not working right now).
Divorced...And LOVING it! |

I saw the documentary. I never realized that the DC5 were so big in America - 18 appearances on The Ed Sullivan Show! Dave Clark himself looked a bit weird - think I detect some surgery there!

How did we end up adopting Glad All Over if Dave was a Tottenham boy? Palace's long time tannoy dj, John Henty, started playing it and it caught on. It took off after he got the Villa Park dj to play it for the walk-on for the 1990 Cup semi-final. Those of us who took the away coaches were given the words to sing in order to drown out the scousers when they sang YNWA. If you watch the YouTube video of that match, just before Andy Gray scored the equalizer for 3 all, they were singing YNWA. Just as the ball went in, their arms went down and ours shot up. Today, most commentators agree that Palace has the best support in the Prem. I think it all stems from Glad All Over.
It started with Bits and Pieces, we used to stomp our feet on the wooden boards. Then when Glad All Over came out we moved to that because you could bang your palm again the hoardings. It got played at every home game.
I got vision, and the rest of the world wears bifocals. |
