imagine establishing our selfs and having an England regular playing for little old crystal palace #southamton

We had five players in the England squad 23 years ago. Martyn, Wright, ,Salako, Gray and Thomas.

It was under the worst England manager ever tbf and even I would have got a call up if I could have hoofed a ball 80ft into the air.

been having little think ( dont worry i sat down)

looks like we we may beat the drop and have out first consecutive season in the premier league ever, and it feels good! and i honestly believe its our time to establish ourselves in the league.

it may seem strange but i think i would miss fighting for promotion or the playoffs in the championship, and although sometimes sickening, heart attack inducing, abut allways hugely exciting, the almost guarenteed relegtion battle.

if this was to be a new era in out clubs history would anyone else secretly miss our yoyo antics. i think i mite.

Bit previous mate !

You'll be forever in my family's memories and it was an honor and privilege to play and lead in the red and blue

Give me mid-table any day. 5-10 yrs in the Prem and we could have really moved the club and stadium on a lot. Add in that the chance of a really top notch player playing for us....would be great.

I totally agree. I think we need 5 more points.

1 June 2010 - saved from oblivion by CPFC 2010
27 May 2013 - promoted to Premier League
2013-14 - 11th in PL
2014-15 - 10th in PL
2015-16 - 15th in PL
2016-17 - 14th in PL (and grateful for that!)

Assuming that TP was here from day 1 of the season we may have got 10 points from the first 10 games rather then 4.

A final position of say 37 points would perhaps have been 43 by adding the additional 6.

This would still indicate a position very much in the lower half with every point hard earned next year. Wont be easy.

Let me ask you this, would you be happy paying another £333 per annum for your season ticket? The club, before promotion was losing £3-5m per annum, the increase in ticket prices is to just stem the loss the owners soak up, forget about doing anything to the ground and we may find another talent from the youth scheme to bail us out every few years. Or we establish ourselves in the prem, step by step build a new stadium invest in the squad and gradually improve and enjoy it when we still turn over he big boys, just like we did Chelski.

This misty eyed yearning for inferior football just makes me laugh.

Your argument makes a lot of sense, but there is a difference in inferior football and wanting to stay true to your roots. Already I see a new breed of supporter at Selhurst who expects instant success. The players aren't quite as approachable in the car park pre match. The likes of Johnny Williams don't seem likely to break into the team as quickly.

has resisted writing a single post on the Ross McCormack thread !!!

So, you want the club to need to sell every young prospect before we get the chance to enjoy them, for us to be relegated and flirt with relegation/promotion and go into administration every ten years? As long as the new breed are paying their entrance fee, they can expect what they like. I have no idea how approachable the players are before a game as I'm in the pub, tbh what the fvck does that matter? If Jonny was good enough, he'd be in the team, truth is, he isn't.
